EXCERPT:

Her voice kept on, soft and sure. “This is one of my favorite poses. I feel rooted and strong through my feet, but my chest and arms are open. My heart is open, too.” She met his gaze, her eyes soft and a slight smile on her lips. “I knew I was on my way to recovery when I did this in class one day, and I shifted my palms so that they faced neither up nor down, but out. I felt like I wanted to hug the whole world. And I started to heal.”

His throat tightened. She said it so calmly, so easily, but it was a very personal admission.

“I want to hug you right now,” he admitted.

“Then do it.”

EXCERPT 2:

Ethan hadn’t tried to be quiet as he’d climbed the stairs, but when he re-entered Willow’s apartment, the sight that greeted him stole his breath.

Willow and Ronan were in her swinging chair, and they were sound asleep.

He took the moment to study her. The pink streak was nearly invisible in her hair, tucked back into a ponytail somewhere on the back of her head. The simple style kept the hair off her face and highlighted her delicate cheekbones and the sandy color of her lashes. Her lips were full, too, not too much, but soft-looking; the kind of lips a man wouldn’t mind kissing now and again. He’d nearly done that earlier this afternoon. There was no sense in pretending otherwise. They’d been alone in that stock room and she’d looked up at him and boom. There was no other way to describe the feeling than attraction. Normal red-blooded attraction, the type any sane man would feel when faced with someone as pretty and vibrant as Willow, right?

Now she was cuddled up with his youngest son, and the sight did something to his heart. There was no denying the vision of the two of them sleeping was precious and made him sentimental. But it also highlighted the fact that Ronan didn’t have a mother to hold him close after a boo-boo and reassure him he was all right. He had aunts and grandparents, but it wasn’t the same. Nothing and no one could take the place of a mother.

RT Book Reviews TOP PICK: “The latest offering the Darling Vermont series is an emotionally poignant, can’t-put-it-down, opposites-attract tearjerker. A true treasure from page one to the beautiful, touching ending. Alward’s witty dialogue drives this powerful tale, but it’s her little boy costars and her paradoxical, damaged hero and heroine that make hearts sing and rule every page of this sweet and steamy love story.”

Publisher’s Weekly: “Alward’s charming and down-to-earth second Kissing Bridge contemporary will have readers wishing they could book a weekend getaway to picturesque and romantic Darling, Vt.”

You think you know pain?
You don’t.
I’ve lived in it for years, pulled so far down into the darkness that it’s all I see. There was no telling where I ended and the darkness began. It swallowed me up whole and spit out a man that I didn’t recognize. I can promise you, you’ve never felt pain like that. It was eternal night and there was no chance that I would ever make it out alive.
Then there was her – Alison James. She’s a spark of brilliant light in the bleak nothingness, a tiny beacon of hope in my endless torment and I can’t do anything but cling to her, hoping for just another second of relief. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep her but some things are out of my hands.
My past is coming back to haunt us and at the very least, it will tear us apart. But if worse comes to worst, she’ll be just as dead as my soul.
Can I force myself to let her go if it will save her? Or will I sacrifice her life for my own selfishness?

Excerpts:

“I can’t find the right word for what you mean to me, Ali. Every time I think I’ve got a grip on this emotion, you do something and my feelings for you grow, eclipsing the sensation I just felt moments before. Each time I think I couldn’t possibly love you any more you go and prove me wrong and a simple word like ‘love” just doesn’t do it anymore.”

Excerpt:

“Well, that’ll do,” I whisper, unable to catch my breath after his beautiful words and he laughs. I’ve never felt more loved than I do in this moment and I throw up a massive thanks to the universe that all the stars aligned when they did and brought Logan and I together.

Excerpt:
“Spit it out, baby. What do you want?”

YOU.

Excerpt:

My heart is screaming out his name from the depths of my soul, begging me to stop doing this, pull him in instead of pushing him away. But the mental image of him, dressed in all black as he watches a casket being lowered in to the ground has been plaguing me since we left his house. I can’t do that to him. I won’t.

excerpt

An unladylike oof left Abigail as she began to fall to the floor only to be caught around the waist by a strong pair of arms. Her eyes shot up to her savior and the reason behind her fall, Abigail was instantly beguiled. For the first time in her life, it was she who was bespelled.

Blue eyes as deep and dark as sapphires gleamed down at her in impatience. A strong jaw clenched tight, held kissable lips that frowned at her. If the face wasn’t enough to enchant her, the full head of black, silk hair that hinted of blue in the light made her hands itch to see how soft it actually was. It was enough to make anyone fall under his spell.

“Oh, good catch.” Mandy watched in amusement, gesturing toward the god-like creature still holding Abigail in his arms. “This is Sebastian Storm, the CEO of Midnight Pharmaceutical and your new boss.”

This was her boss? Abigail’s eyes turned back to the man holding her in his arms. This glorious specimen of a man was going to be the one she answered to every day for the foreseeable future?

Any other time she would be thrilled to have any kind of attention from someone like him. Not only was he gorgeous but he hadn’t even said a word and his presence demanded all of her attention. This was a man that got what he wanted, no questions asked. Thoughts of him commanding her in the bedroom seeped into her mind before she could help it, and she blushed.

“Was there something you needed, Mr. Storm?” Mandy asked the stoic man still holding onto Abigail’s waist.

“Yes, I was wondering how long I would have to wait for a new secretary. Things are beginning to pile up, and Lisa cannot keep doing two jobs, she’s hardly proficient in the one she has.”

If Abigail hadn’t already been on the verge of melting into the floor, the sound of his voice would have done it. It made her think of warm silk covered in the best chocolate; the hint of Hispanic heritage in his accent added a spicy edge to it. It was a voice she wanted to wrap around herself and savor.

“Well, you are in luck. It just so happens that this is Abigail Blanchard, your new night secretary.”

At the introduction, Sebastian instantly dropped his hands from around her waist, leaving Abigail cold from where his arms had touched her. He stepped back from her, clearing his throat as he straightened the cuffs of his suit. His eyes went from curious to hard in an instant. All thoughts of this man ever embracing her for real were dashed from her mind.

Saddened by the thought, Abigail pushed it to the back of her mind as she realized what Mandy had just said. “Night secretary?”

Mandy nodded her head, her lips curving down. “Yes, the position you applied for was for Mr. Storm’s nighttime secretary. Midnight Pharmaceutical is the only ever twenty-four-hour research and development facility.” Her brow crinkled as she glanced down at the papers in front of her. “I apologize, I thought you knew or I would have gone back over it in the interview.”

“No, no.” Abigail quickly jumped in, not wanting to look any more foolish in front of her new boss than she already did. “I am the one who should apologize. I remember now. It must have just slipped my mind from all the excitement.”

“Well, it can be a little overwhelming at first,” Mandy reassured her with a pat of her hand. “Midnight is like no other company you have ever worked for or ever will. We are ferociously loyal and we rarely have to hire new employees. Your position opening up was a surprise to us all. The last secretary went on maternity leave and suddenly decided not to come back to work. Hopefully, you will love it here as much as the rest of us and we won’t have to hire someone else for a decade or so.”

Abigail nodded her head politely. “Oh, don’t worry, I don’t plan on having children anytime soon. I think even the prospect of a boyfriend would be required first.” Even as the words came out of her mouth, she felt herself freeze up. What the hell was she saying? Way to let them know just how pathetic she really was.

Internally, she was smacking herself over and over again but her inner torture was halted by a kind of choking sound coming from Sebastian. Jerking her attention back to her new boss, her eyes narrowed. From the slight gleam in his eyes, he was laughing at her.

“Welcome to Midnight, Miss Blanchard.” The way he said her name in a deep accent pulled things low inside of her, and just like that, her fantasies of being bossed around by the wonderful man with the sinful voice were back in full swing.

EXCERPT REVEAL! HER SECRET RANGER BY DONNA MICHAELS (@TastyBookTours @entangledpub @Donna_Michaels)

Kissing
the sexy soldier was a dare she couldn’t resist…
HER SECRET RANGER
The Men of At Ease Ranch #2
Donna Michaels
Releasing March 6th, 2017
Entangled Lovestruck

Kissing the sexy soldier was a dare she couldn’t resist…

By-the-book event planner Beth Brannigan’s best friend dared her to kiss a cowboy. She
should have said no. Instead, she said please…again and again. If
her brother finds out she’s dating—okay, kissing—okay, sleeping with—one
of his military buddies, he’ll kill her. Assuming he doesn’t kill his friend
first.
Former Army Ranger Brick Mitchum isn’t a relationship kind of guy. But then he meets Beth and starts to wonder if maybe it’s time he settled down. She’s mysterious.
Unpredictable. Curvy in every way he needs… And hiding something. He’s just got
to figure out what

“I know what we should
do. Let’s play truth or dare.”
Crud.
Beth drew back and
adamantly shook her head. “Let’s not.”
“Come on. We could both
use something to lighten things up. So, let’s see…” Her friend’s gaze narrowed
as she tapped a finger on her chin. “I can’t help but feel there’s something
you’re not telling me about the Roadhouse. The fact you knew about the line dancing
has my Spidey sense tingling. So…truth: Did you meet someone there the last
time you were in town?”
Damn. She’d forgotten
about her friend’s astute superpower. “What are you talking about?”
Rachel’s amused, albeit
determined, blue gaze bore deep. “Either tell me the truth about that weekend
or take a dare.”
Double damn.
Beth didn’t do dares.
Ever. She’d always taken the “truth” option of the game during their
adolescence. She couldn’t risk reprimands or hospital bills back then. Not much
had changed. But she wasn’t about to reveal her sexy cowboy weekend, either.
With a lift of her chin, she held Rachel’s gaze. “Dare.”
The bugger’s grin grew
wicked as satisfaction gleamed in her eyes. “I dare you to kiss the next cowboy
who walks through the gate.”
Beth gasped. “I can’t do
that! What if he’s married?” She jumped to her feet and headed to a nearby
trash can to toss her garbage. “Not happening.”
Rachel followed and
shrugged. “You have to. You chose dare. But, I’ll amend it to: you have to kiss
the next single
cowboy who walks through the gate. We’ll watch for wedding rings. And just
because you’re not looking doesn’t mean you can ignore the da…amn.” Her friend
blinked. “Wow, Beth. I almost wish you’d given me the dare. Turn around
and check out your ‘single’ cowboy.”
Without giving her the
chance to protest, Rachel grasped Beth’s shoulders and physically turned her to
face the gate and one hell of a sexy cowboy. Well over six foot of solid muscle
that rippled under a black T-shirt and a pair of jeans hugging lean hips and
thighs, the guy oozed hotness she felt with an invisible wave of heat.
Her throat went dry. It
was…him. The cowboy from two
weeks ago. Seriously? What were the chances he’d walk back into her life at
that exact moment? “Uh…”
“I know, right? And
there’s not a wedding ring in sight. Now go over there and kiss him.” Her
snickering friend pushed her after the hunk striding toward the livestock
section of the fair. “Go on before he gets away. Or is that what you wanted?”
She gulped. Pulled herself
together. The knowing tone in her friend’s voice revealed she expected Beth to
chicken out.
Wrong.
Any other time, yes,
she’d lose the dare. It was childish and irresponsible, and she didn’t have
time for foolish games. But she did have time to help her friend de-stress. Her
friend who was also her client. It was Beth’s duty to put her client at ease.
So, technically, it was her duty to kiss the sexy cowboy whose body she knew as
well as her own.
That was her story and
she was sticking to it.
“Fine. I’ll do it.”
Rachel squealed and
clapped her hands.
Grasping bravado with two
fists, Beth set her shoulders, lifted her chin, and marched after the hot guy
striding away from her down the fairway. So what if she’d decided he was part
of her past? The opportunity was too good to pass up. Things like this never
happened to her.
Zigzagging around
fairgoers, she avoided running into two children wearing a blue coating of
cotton candy, and closed in on her prey. Her confidence rose with each step.
Not only had she received her first ever dare, she was actually in the position
to have the upper hand on the challenge.
A flicker of guilt and a
touch of anxiety mixed with excitement. She pushed them both aside and smiled
when the cowboy suddenly stiffened and came to a halt. It was as if he could
feel her presence as sure as she could feel his. Not wanting Rachel to see the
guy’s expression, Beth didn’t give him a chance to turn around. She slid in
front of him, her anxiety fading at the pleasure curving his mouth into a sexy
grin, dimpling his cheeks.
“Hello, Brick,” she said.
Then she cupped his
deliciously scruffed jaw, pulled his face down, and kissed the ever loving heck
out of him.

NEW POST! CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE BY JILL SHALVIS

CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE - banner

From New York Times bestselling author Jill Shalvis comes the next sexy, standalone novel in the Heartbreaker Bay series…

CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE - cover

About CHASING CHRISTMAS EVE:

Meet cute…

Run for the hills—temporarily. That’s Colbie Albright’s plan when she flees New York for San Francisco. Wrangling her crazy family by day and writing a bestselling YA fantasy series by night has taken its toll. In short, Colbie’s so over it that she’s under it. She’s also under the waters of a historic San Francisco fountain within an hour of arrival. Fortunately, the guy who fishes Colbie out has her looking forward to Christmas among strangers. But she’s pretty sure Spencer Baldwin won’t be a stranger for long.

Make merry…

Spence’s commitment to hiding from the Ghosts of Relationships Past means he doesn’t have to worry about the powerful—okay, crazy hot—chemistry he’s got with Colbie. Just because she can laugh at anything, especially herself… just because she’s gorgeous and a great listener…just because she “gets” Spencer immediately doesn’t mean he won’t be able to let Colbie go. Does it?

…and hope for a miracle.

Now the clock’s ticking for Colbie and Spence: Two weeks to cut loose. Two weeks to fall hard. Two weeks to figure out how to make this Christmas last a lifetime

EXCERPT:

The bathroom door opened, and even better than his fantasy, Colbie emerged from a cloud of steam, her willowy body wrapped in one of his towels, her exposed skin gleaming and dewy damp. Her hair had been piled on top of her head, but wavy strands had escaped, clinging to her neck and shoulders.

He couldn’t tear his gaze off of her. There was just something so uncalculated about her, so . . . natural and easy. She was like a beacon to him, which was both crazy and more than a little terrifying.

Clearly not seeing him against the wall, she moved with an effortless grace to the suitcase she’d left at the door. Bending low enough to give him a near heart attack, she rifled through her things, mumbling to herself that she should’ve researched more about how to be a normal person instead of how to kill someone with an everyday object.

“Do you kill a lot of people, then?” Spence asked.

“Motherforker!” she said with a startled squeak of surprise, whirling to face him, almost losing her grip on the towel.

Five days a week, Spence worked out hard in this gym. Mostly to outrun his demons, but the upside was he could run miles without losing his breath. But he lost his breath now.

And that wasn’t his body’s only reaction.

EXCERPT:

It was hard to believe she was really there. That the man who sat across from her was not, after all, some figment of her ten-year-old imagination. As she ate her meat and thick-cut fries, she studied him from under lowered lashes. He looked much as she remembered, but heavier, more filled out. His skin was not as tanned as it used to be, maybe because he now spent more time indoors, but the Native American genes from his mother’s side were plain in his black eyes, thick brows, and high cheekbones. He wore his hair long now, neatly banded in a ponytail that reached halfway down his back. She couldn’t remember which tribe his mother had been affiliated with. Maybe someday she would ask him. For now, she found herself feeling shy.

“I was sorry to hear about your mom. Dovie told me she read the obituary in the paper. I would have sent you a card if I’d had your address.”

A momentary wince of pain flashed across his face and then was gone. “Thanks,” he said, cutting another bite of meat.

“I remember her as being such a nice person.”

He nodded, his lips twisting in a wry smile. “Yeah, she was way too nice for…”

At his abrupt silence she dropped her gaze and nodded. “For my dad. I know. You can go ahead and say it.”

Instead he poked the bite of steak into his mouth.

“She used to tell the best stories. Remember the coyote tales? I loved those.”

“Yeah. Good times.” He scowled. After a moment he wiped his mouth on his napkin and leaned back in the booth.

“So. Desi. I’m glad you’re here. I’m glad I can be a support for you right now. But I gotta know. How did you find me?”

Desi reached down and opened her handbag and took out a stack of envelopes. She set them on the table between their two plates.

“I found these this morning in Dovie’s bottom dresser drawer.”

“Ah.” His gaze rested on the envelopes as if they were a pile of venomous snakes. “So she kept my letters.”

EXCERPT 2:

It was the hottest thing he’d ever seen. Ever felt.

He couldn’t make it last. In the next instant he was swept into a monster wave of heat and starlight that sent him spinning to the very edge of consciousness. He let the wave take him, unable to do anything else. There was a vague twinge of embarrassment in the mix, but that was overridden by his body’s eager, primal response to her mouth, her touch. Her incredible sexuality.

When he managed to open his eyes again, she was using her pajama top to wipe her breasts. Now he did feel chagrined. He reached out and attempted to brush her hair back over her shoulder.

“Sorry about that. That was way more one-sided than it should have been.”

“That’s okay,” she said, meeting his eyes for only a second or two. “That was pretty much what I was going for.”

He sat up. “Let’s go upstairs. If you lay across the bed, I think I can—”

“No.”

“Dez. Come on. I’ve been told I’m pretty good with my tongue. Let me at least reciprocate.”

She shook her head, then stood and took one more swipe at herself. The dawn had broken fully now, and he was smacked with how perfect she was, standing there half-dressed in the morning light, with the glory of her hair loose around her.

“That day you left to join the army, you gave me something to remember,” she said. “And I did. I hung on to that memory for eleven years, Hawk.” She smiled and shrugged. “Now I’ve given you something to think about for a while.”

TEASER TUESDAY! CAN’T FIGHT THIS FEELING BY MIRANDA LIASSON (@TastyBookTours @mirandaliasson)

CAN’T FIGHT THIS FEELING
Spikonos Brothers #2
Miranda Liasson
Releasing March 7th, 2017

SHE WANTS TO MOVE ON…WITH SOMEONE BLAND AND BORING…

Widowed psychologist Maggie McShae is ready to find someone who won’t make her heart
beat fast, her knees grow weak, or make her feel hot and cold at the same time.
No one she can really love, because love brings too much pain.

Drew Poulos, son of a billionaire, is hiding out in Mirror Lake, working at his
brothers’ brandy company. He inspires those very feelings Maggie’s determined
to avoid. The hunky businessman, who left his high society bride at the altar,
is the last person she’d ever seriously date…but he might just
be perfect for a fling…

HE NEEDS A DATE FOR HIS BROTHER’S
WEDDING…WITH SOMEONE WHO CAN CALM HIS QUIRKY FAMILY…

Drew’s too heartbroken to ever trust any woman again, but the sexy psychologist is the
perfect person to deflect his family’s attention as his brother marries the woman
Drew once thought was his.
As sparks fly, two injured hearts might just find that true love can be even
better the second time around….

He got in her face. And oh, those big brown intelligent eyes
up close, those chiseled cheekbones, so much more defined than her own, which really
were such a waste on a man. That thick, pitch-black hair, so thick a woman’s
fingers could get lost in there.
She tried to back up a step, but he moved forward. “Maybe.
Let’s start by being honest with each other. Do you want me, Maggie?”
“We’re not talking about—that. Back off already.” She pushed
on his chest a little. A mistake. Because it was hard as boulders and made her
knees go weak. “Besides, you just—flinched when I touched you.”
“I think we need to do what you said, talk about it. I
flinched because I felt what I think you feel too. That there’s something going
on between us. What are we going to do about it?”
She flipped her hand dismissively. “It’s all that
touchy-feely stuff we’re doing in front of your family. That has to stop.”
“This has nothing to do with playacting,” he said quietly.
“And I think you know that. “That kiss on the court… It was real.”
“That kiss was…impulsive. Heat of the moment, fueled by our
hard-won victory.” Joking now was not stopping the shivers that were running up
and down her arms. Or the hot and cold coursing through her veins. Somehow, she
sensed how it would be between them. Wild. No holds barred. And God help her,
she wanted that.
She tried to pull some common sense out of her sex-addled
brain. It would be a very bad idea on both their parts to forget their troubles
with a sweaty round of sex, wouldn’t it?
