Exclusive Excerpt: Damien lightly laid me on the bed, removed my towel, and tucked me beneath the sheets. “Do you need anything? Water, saltines, anything?” Concern filled his features once again. “No.” I smiled. “I’m fine. Just tired.” He nodded his acknowledgment, and then he walked to the bathroom door while pulling his soaking wet shirt from his back. He tossed it on the chair, every muscle flexing with his movements. I might have been tired, but that didn’t stop me from being stunned into silence as my body flamed to life at the sight of his bare torso. My greedy eyes traveled from one end of his shoulder to the other, drinking in the beauty of his ink. Without glancing at me, he sauntered over to his dresser to pull out a dark-colored shirt. “Don’t,” I whispered, feeling my heart stop beating in my chest. It destroyed me a little every time he concealed this part of himself from me. I knew something awful had happened to Damien and that he didn’t want to talk about it, but him hiding it from me hurt beyond any other physical pain I’d ever experienced. His arms paused midair, and he gazed over his shoulder. From his side profile, I saw the instant his body tensed, and his jaw clenched. “Please…” I swallowed thickly and dug for courage. “You want me to stay. And I want to lie with you…with nothing between us.” I realized I was being unfair, but I was that desperate. A visible tremor shook through him. It felt as though an eternity had passed before he spoke, “Don’t touch them.” My heart swelled within its confined space. He was going to trust me. “I won’t,” I breathed in relief. “I promise.” “Don’t ever break a promise to me, Raelyn.” He slowly lowered his arms and pivoted to face me. “So, don’t make one if you can’t keep it.” “I keep my promises,” I vowed with the utmost sincerity. “As do I. Always.” His voice was reverent. Alicia Rae Bio:

BLOG TOUR! WHEN A SCOT TIES THE KNOW BY TESSA DARE (@avonbooks)
A Scottish sweetheart. One who was handsome and honorable and devoted to her, but conveniently never around. Maddie poured her heart into writing the imaginary Captain MacKenzie letter after letter … and by pretending to be devastated when he was (not really) killed in battle, she managed to avoid the pressures of London society entirely.
Until years later, when this kilted Highland lover of her imaginings shows up in the flesh. The real Captain Logan MacKenzie arrives on her doorstep—handsome as anything, but not entirely honorable. He’s wounded, jaded, in possession of her letters… and ready to make good on every promise Maddie never expected to keep.
Dear Captain Logan MacKenzie,
There is but one consolation in writing this absurd letter. And that is that you, my dear delusion, do not exist to read it.
But I run ahead of myself. Introductions first.
I am Madeline Eloise Gracechurch. The great- est ninny to ever draw breath in England. This will come as a shock, I fear, but you fell deeply in love with me when we did not cross paths in Brighton. And now we are engaged.
Maddie could not remember the first time she’d held a drawing pencil. She only knew she could not recall a time she’d been without one.
In fact, she usually carried two or three. She kept them tucked in her apron pockets and speared in her upswept dark hair, and sometimes—when she needed all her limbs for climbing a tree or vaulting a fence rail—clenched in her teeth.
And she wore them down to nubs. She sketched songbirds when she was supposed to be minding her lessons, and she sketched church mice when she was meant to be at prayer. When she had time to ramble out of doors, anything in Nature was fair game—from the shoots of clover between her toes to any cloud that meandered overhead.
She loved to draw anything.
Well, almost anything.
She hated drawing attention to herself.
And thus, at sixteen years old, she found herself
staring down her first London season with approxi- mately as much joy as one might anticipate a dose of purgative.
After many years as a widower, Papa had taken a new wife. One a mere eight years older than Maddie herself. Anne was cheerful, elegant, lively. Every- thing her new stepdaughter was not.
Oh, to be Cinderella in all her soot-smeared, rag-clad misery. Maddie would have been thrilled
Figuratively, of course.
At best, Maddie was expected to fetch a third son with aspirations to the Church, or perhaps an insol- vent baronet.
At worst . . .
Maddie didn’t do well in crowds. More to the point, she didn’t do anything in crowds. In any large gathering—be it a market, a theater, a ballroom— she had a tendency to freeze, almost literally. An arctic sense of terror took hold of her, and the crush of bodies rendered her solid and stupid as a block of ice.
The mere thought of a London season made her shudder.
And yet, she had no choice.
While Papa and Anne (she could not bring her- self to address a twenty-four-year-old as Mama) en- joyed their honeymoon, Maddie was sent to a ladies’ rooming house in Brighton. The sea air and society were meant to coax her out of her shell before her season commenced.
It didn’t quite work that way.

REVIEW BY BRANDY! SUSTAINED BY EMMA CHASE
Blurb:
Emma Chase, New York Times bestselling author of the Tangled series, returns with a brand new funny, romantic, sexy story!
A knight in tarnished armor is still a knight.
When you’re a defense attorney in Washington, DC, you see firsthand how hard life can be, and that sometimes the only way to survive is to be harder. I, Jake Becker, have a reputation for being cold, callous, and intimidating—and that suits me just fine. In fact, it’s necessary when I’m breaking down a witness on the stand.
Complications don’t work for me—I’m a “need-to-know” type of man. If you’re my client, tell me the basic facts. If you’re my date, stick to what will turn you on. I’m not a therapist or Prince Charming—and I don’t pretend to be.
Then Chelsea McQuaid and her six orphaned nieces and nephews came along and complicated the ever-loving hell out of my life. Now I’m going to Mommy and Me classes, One Direction concerts, the emergency room, and arguing cases in the principal’s office.
Chelsea’s too sweet, too innocent, and too gorgeous for her own good. She tries to be tough, but she’s not. She needs someone to help her, defend her…and the kids.
And that—that, I know how to do.
I absolutely loved this book! I don’t normally enjoy books written from a man’s perspective but I loved Jake.
Jake loves his life. He has a clear cut path and doesn’t expect any kind of deviation from it. He keeps it simple and matter of fact. He deals with clients that expect a man to get the job done and besides the obvious morons that keep repeating the same stupid mistakes, he does it well. So you can imagine his surprise when he runs into a boy that is so much like him at that age it is unreal.
Chelsea McQuaid is a young woman that has her hands for. At twenty-six she has taken guardianship of her six, count them six, nieces and nephews. The kids all range from six months to fourteen years and while they are good kids, they still have some mischief up their sleeves. This poor woman just longs for a little adult conversation but Jake has other ideas. She makes it clear that she is a package deal and while Jake thinks he can handle it, he has no idea what to expect.
Picture it: One hot, sexy lawyer + one innocent aunt + six devils in disguise = a book that I can not say enough good things about.
If you like books that make your heart flutter, your smile grow brighter and the laughter coming, then this is the book for you.
PS: It would be wonderful if we could all take a page out of the Judge’s book and change the life of a child.
WHEN SHE COMES UNDONE BY VANESSA GRAY
Chloe Dawson learned early that life wasn’t easy. If it were, her parents never would have split up, leaving her to deal with the fallout at eight years old. If it were, her mother’s vice wouldn’t have driven a wedge between them. Though she comes to face trials most people only confront in their nightmares, she realizes she can’t wake up from her life. Instead, she looks her problems in the eye, afraid yet standing her ground. But even the strongest need rescuing … Just when she feels her head dipping below the surface, Caleb Holt appears in her life. Unlike Chloe, he’s run far from his past, into the arms of an uncertain future. At the request of a dying man, he decides to stop running and fulfill a promise—one which forbids him from interacting with Chloe and forces him to remain her secret benefactor. Keeping out of sight, he watches with his eyes, but soon discovers that his heart has been just as vigilant. Aggressive is his middle name, but his bond keeps him silent at a distance. When she needs help, he reaches out of hiding to touch her life, only to step back before she can see him. However opportunity presents itself, and he finds he can’t resist answering its call. What will happen when the barrier between them drops and he’s finally allowed to touch where once he could only look? What will happen when Chloe accepts an offer that no one in her desperate position would refuse, even when it pushes her boundaries? What will happen when she comes undone?

Release Blitz! HOT-BLOODED LUST by @BlushngRavyn
Cast in secrets and doubt, an investigation this red-hot is certain to cause an uproar. Agent Joel Connor receives a phone call that friend of the family and fortune teller Grace Stine was murdered. Agent Kaitlyn Rivers joins him along with the Paranormal, Occult, and Ritualistic Crimes Division heading the investigation. Sexy and buxom Agent Emily Carter and tanned well-built Agent Franklin Noble could easily be underwear models. Will jealousy and lust tear Joel and Kaitlyn apart or strengthen their new relationship?
Office spankings, lust potions, and fiery romance combine in this romantic erotica.
Six Questions with the Author
What are you currently working on? I just finished writing the first book in the series Dystopian Reign. The first book is titled, The Victorian Shift. I started the second book late this afternoon and it’s titled The Western Movement. It’s an interesting blend of historical mixed with dystopian (and of course romance) that follows a twenty-five year old young woman that escapes prison when the facility is under attack.
Tell us a little about your release, Hot-Blooded Lust. Hot-Blooded Lust is the third installment in the Federal Agent Chronicles. Just like the first book in the series, Hot-Blooded Lust follows the life of Agent Kaitlyn Rivers as they investigate the murder of a fortune-teller, who happens to also be someone Joel knows.
Any more Federal Agent Chronicle stories in the works? Yes, Fire Licked is scheduled for release in November from Blushing Books. That novel is about a sexy fireman and follows FBI Agent Leslie Hunter.
How do you write so fast? Good question! I’m very prolific and also task-focused. This is my full-time job, so I treat it as such, spending at least eight hours a day in front of the computer writing (or at least attempting to). I concentrate heavily on meeting a word count daily when I write.
You always have fun swag. What’s your favorite piece that you’ve made? I love making mini book charms as necklaces and also book boxes that feature my book cover. The book boxes are great for storing goodies when I have a book event. The necklaces (and also bracelets) tend to be a huge hit at events. Everyone always loves them and they’re all handmade. I’m always sharing pictures of the goodies on Facebook.
Do you plan on writing any more YA books under your other name, Ruth Silver? Yes. I recently finished the prequel to Aberrant. It is titled, Cabal. I’m waiting to find out the release date for that young adult novella. I also am (still) working on the sequel to Elfinland (Orenda Book 2). It’s half-written at 21k words. I just need to sit down and finish that novel as well.

Saving people is FBI Agent Kaitlyn Rivers drug of choice. That’s not the only thing she loves about her job. The sexual tension is mounting between Kaitlyn and her alpha boss, Agent Joel Connor. Assigned into an undercover operation to stop a serial child abductor with the pathetic Cole Sommers, Kaitlyn is silently thrilled when Cole is forced off the case and Joel steps in. Intense romance, steamy sex scenes, and a nail-gripping case that will attract fans of crime dramas and thrillers. This action-packed erotica is sure to leave you pleased three times over!

RELEASE DAY! DANE (BOOK 1-HUNKS) BY MICHELLE HUGHES
REVIEW! SAFE AT LAST BY MAYA BANKS
They say young love doesn’t last, but a girl from the wrong side of the tracks with unique abilities and the hometown golden boy were determined to defy the odds. For Zack Covington, Anna-Grace—his “Gracie”—was the one. Until one night forever alters the course of their future, when a devastated Gracie disappears without a trace, leaving Zack to agonize over what happened to the girl he loved. As the years pass, his desperate efforts to find her uncovered nothing.
Now working for Devereaux Security, he stumbles across a painting featuring a special place only he and Gracie would know. The image is too perfectly rendered for it to be coincidence. His Gracie must be alive. When he finally tracks her down, he is shocked—and heart-broken—to discover the wounded shell of the girl he once knew and still loves. Her psychic gifts are gone, and worse, she believes he betrayed her all those years ago.
Zack has enemies, and once his weakness is discovered, Gracie becomes a target for revenge. He’ll have to save her before he can earn her trust and her love. And he vows they’ll never be torn apart again.
I am a fan of Maya Banks. I love her books and I was grateful for the chance to read Zack and Gracie’s story.
Zack is the all American golden boy and Gracie is the “wrong side of the tracks” girl that he falls in love with. One minute Gracie is there and the next Zack’s whole world is different. He struggles to find his place in a world that doesn’t involve Gracie and finds that nothing is the same. When he finds out that Gracie is alive, he knows that their love is meant to be and wants a second chance with Gracie.
Couple of things about this story. First, it triggered for me. Just a heads up to folks that have had a bad experience, this did it for me. It was hard for me to read for a bit. I liked Zack but sometimes I wanted to reach through the book and smack him in the head. Move on, man! I liked Gracie but there were times when I just couldn’t connect with her. I found that she didn’t seem to have as much faith in the love of her life as I thought she should have had. Everyone reacts differently to a trauma though, so I shouldn’t judge. While I like the security angle that Zack works, I would have like to see him as a professional football player. That would have been awesome. 🙂
This was a different kind of Maya Banks read for me. While I liked it, it was not my favorite in the series. I look forward to more in the future.
