REVIEW BY BRANDY! SUGAR DADDIES BY JADE WEST

3daef-coollogo_com-25129336A sugar daddy website doesn’t seem a sound basis for an A1 life plan, but I’m a small town girl with big dreams, and there’s this one advert, this one crazy advert I can’t stop thinking about…

Two hot guys seeking their Little Miss Right.
Someone who can entertain them, amuse them, fit in with their corporate schedule.
And sex. They want sex.
Lots of sex.
Bonus, right? One major dose of epic win.

Of course, guys like Carl and Rick have their conditions. One being that they come together, or not at all.
Hell, I can live with that.

And there are no skeletons in their designer closet, none that I can find.
Just two hot sugar daddies, with particular tastes, nothing to worry about.

Until Carl and Rick spill the big one, the one that sends the girls running. A whole string of them before me, running to the hills without so much as a backward glance.

Maybe I should run, too. Thanks but no thanks, see you around, guys, nice knowing you.
But I’m already in way too deep for that.

Warning – as with every other Jade West book, reader discretion is highly advised. This novel contains vivid depictions of MMF / MM relationships, and Jade’s characters, as always, have very filthy mouths. Mature readers only, please.

F*ck me.  This was delicious.  I absolutely adore ménage stories!.  I think they are hot, sexy and more fun than a new dildo on your birthday!

Katie is your typical young college graduate.  She is looking for a way to make the money to make her dreams come true and the Sugar Daddy website seems to be the ticket.  What wouldn’t you do for some sexy fun and cash?

Carl and Rick are a passionate couple who have been looking for a third to complete their relationship.  Finding a woman isn’t the problem, it’s finding the forever girl that they are having trouble with.  It’s hard to find forever when they keep running out the door.

These three click in a way that comes from finding love when you weren’t expecting it and passion that demands to be set free.  When the boys tell Katie the truth of what they are wanting, she has to decide if forever with two men is something she can embrace or if her dreams are a solo effort.

Grab it and read it, ladies.  I don’t think you will be disappointed in the world of Jade West!

“I LOVED THIS BOOK. Change of Plans was so refreshingly different and full of antitypes (anti-archetypes), and it was just sooo nice to read something that veers from the norm.” – 5 Star Review from Angie, a Goodreads reader

“The two main characters were totally relatable, plus very easy to like and root for.” – 5 Star Review from Jenna, a Goodreads reader

Mila Rossi is a contemporary romance author. She creates heroines who don’t back down, stand up for themselves and insist on freedom and independence until the right man comes along. Then all rules are thrown out the window. The heroes must be clever, generous and able to throw a girl over their shoulder.

Mila has seen the world and loves to write about it. She also loves to paint vintage anime characters, belly dance, try new foods and perfect her archery skills. She wishes she could partake in extreme sports but only allows her characters to tempt fate. Her own chances of causing disasters are just too high.

Jason and Sarah.  They were an interesting pair.  Sarah is a virgin that is ready to “get it over with.”  I personally don’t understand that mentality but that seems to be who Sarah is as  a character.  I like a female character that is powerful, knows what she wants and has no qualms about going after it.  FYI though, I wouldn’t have done the pickup thing at my friend’s office party.  If you are wanting a one night stand, you don’t do it in an environment where you could cause a problem for your friend or run into them again.
Jason was a hot and sexy MMA trainer.  Yummy!  He dropped the ball for a few minutes but Sarah doesn’t seem to have a problem with putting him in his place!  I love reading about a strong character.  There is nothing like two people who are not looking for any kind of connection and it smacks them right in the face.
I was delighted to read this story and I look forward to more from Mila Rossi!

Jackson’s Trust
Fourth Down #1

By: Violet Duke

Jackson's Trust_Duke.jpg

New York Times bestselling author Violet Duke kicks off her fun and sexy new Fourth Down series with a heartwarming friends-to-lovers romance between a no-strings-attached sports analyst and the hottest damn tomboy he’s ever met.

It’s no secret that sports analyst Jackson Gray doesn’t do relationships. What is a secret, however, is the reason why. Jackson’s life is . . . complicated. And it doesn’t help that his current hands-off “friendship” is with the cute-as-hell new sideline reporter he’s assigned to train. Turns out, not only is the woman damn sweet, she also knows as much about football as he does. Like it or not though, Jackson has to remind himself that sex is the only thing he has to offer . . . until now.

Leila Hart’s fast-growing friendship with Jackson is something she’d never risk, no matter how unbelievably seductive the reward. Becoming an NFL sportscaster has always been the goal, and thanks to Jackson’s fierce support and mentoring, it all finally seems within reach. Problem is, a girl can only take so much of that sexy-as-sin voice whispering dirty, filthy football stats in her ear before she loses all self-control. A workplace romance with Jackson is a disaster waiting to happen, especially for someone with big dreams . . . and secrets of her own.

Advance praise for Jackson’s Trust

“My life is . . . complicated.” Jackson broke his gaze away from her. “A relationship would be doomed to fail from the start.”

He sounded genuinely disappointed. Almost wistful. The way her grandmother had sounded years ago when her doctors told her she had to change her diet to cut out sweets, her favorite thing ever.

His eyes found hers again. “Funny thing is that I used to be one of those guys who figured he’d have a kid or two by now. Cute hell raisers who’d help me spoil their mom on Sunday mornings, that sort of thing.” Doting affection filtered into his tone. “And vice versa. A partner in crime who’d help me plan surprises for the kids that would be so stinkin’ adorable that I’d max out the memory on my phone taking photo after photo.”

Good grief, she was pretty sure one of her ovaries just fainted.

Leila had the sneaking suspicion that she was going to fall for this man. Hard. “So because of your secretly complicated life, you only date women who want . . .”

“Sex.” His eyes stayed glued to hers as he dropped the one word like a bomb. “Just sex. At their place, not mine. Occasionally, with lunch or dinner as well, but never breakfast.”

Wow. That was the very definition of just sex, alright.

“That honest enough for you?”

Yep. That worked. Did it settle her curiosity at the moment? Unquestionably. Did it get her to want to widen the number of spaces between them on the game board?

Not so much.

She watched him watch her reaction to his answer, and gave him the smile she knew he wasn’t expecting. Along with the follow-up she knew he really wasn’t expecting. “So you flirting with me earlier was you picking up on some sex-only, no-breakfast-in-bed vibe I have going on?” she teased. “That’s a pretty powerfully accurate gift you got there, Skippy.”

Aaand they were back to standing on the same square on the game board.

“Sunshine, why do I get the feeling you don’t really have a boyfriend?”

* * * * *

Jackson found his palms flat against the wall on either side of her shoulders before he could stop himself. And yet he did nothing to remedy what was surely a bad decision on his part, work-wise. Instead, he just watched her, and waited for an answer.

Leila’s gaze pulled away from his a moment later, and dropped down to his tie. While her teeth sank into that lush lower lip he’d been fascinated with since yesterday, she reached out her free hand to straighten and smooth out his tie.

Oddly, the unbidden action was a penetrating fist to his chest. He hadn’t been lying about having had more than a few passing thoughts of a wife and kids to spoil. And this tie-straightening? It belonged right there in the vault with all the other untouchable daydreams for his life.

When her lips parted then, instead of an answer, he got another question. “Why do you insist on calling me sunshine?”

“You don’t like it?”

“I’d rather you call me by my name.”

Exhaling slowly, he admitted, “Me too. Which is why I’m sticking to sunshine.”

Eyes still glued to his tie, she resumed her distracting lip biting, looking as reflective as she did amused. “So does that mean I shouldn’t call you Jackson?”

Holy shit, he liked the sound of his name on her lips. Too damn much. “Call me Jackson.” It wasn’t a reply to her inquiry. It wasn’t even a request. It had edged over to a demand

 28bd5-coollogo_com-20005795

This was a fabulously refreshing read!  It is so nice to read something that is different from everything else on my tablet.

I loved Leila and Jackson.  Leila knew what she wanted and was willing to step outside of her family’s narrow-minded world to find her bliss.  I adored the fact that she was a football junkie.  I love the game but I am no where near her level of talent!

Jackson had me stumped for a few minutes.  I understood his love of the game and finding a kindred soul in Leila but the twists and turn this story took left me hungry for more!  I don’t like to give away the story but let’s just say that there is so much more to Jackson then I was ever expecting.

This is a sizzling read with all the sweetness you would expect from Violet Duke and I can’t wait for more!

EXCERPT:

What was he doing?

Aiden downshifted into a lower gear as they reached a busier street. Madison’s knuckles were white where she gripped the car. He could hear her panting for breath over the purr of the engine and it set his teeth on edge.

He should have sent her on her way, but he hadn’t been able to. The way her eyes had pleaded with him, the desperation.

He’d bet his Challenger she was innocent. And he didn’t harm innocents. There weren’t a lot of limits left to him, but that was one.

There was still a chance this whole thing could be a setup. Madison could be playing him. This whole divorce might be a ruse. But if it were, they had even the police fooled. No, Madison’s story was at least partly truthful. She was Dustin’s ex, but she might also be the key to learning how to pry open the inner ranks of Michael Evers’s organization.

That didn’t answer why he had Madison in his car, or why he pushed the Challenger in turns or zipped through traffic. This kind of driving was asking for trouble, but the way her breathing hitched, how she squeaked when he cut it close passing another car or skidded around a turn—it only encouraged him. By the time he reached the highway and headed toward the night’s meet-up, the pitch of her noises had changed, dropping an octave. Yeah, fast cars had that kind of effect on some people.

“How exactly did you go from being a housewife to a roller derby girl?” She baited his curiosity like few things did these days unless it was connected to Evers. His life was one, sad refrain—catch the bastard.

Madison chuckled. “Wish fulfillment. In high school I wanted the family I didn’t have. When I got divorced, I wanted to be the kind of woman who didn’t let life keep her down. Want to take a bet on what I do next?”

Her humor surprised a laugh out of him. She was an interesting woman, that was for sure.

It wasn’t long before the lights of Miami faded behind them and the Everglades stretched out on either side.

For the couple miles it took to reach the race site, he could pretend he wasn’t doing a job. That he was just a guy, driving a fast car with a pretty girl by his side. It was a nice dream, but it wasn’t for him.

He exited onto a two-lane road that seemed to go nowhere. Unless you knew where you were going. He took a turn and taillights lit up the darkness. Other speed junkies on the search for a fix.

They’d created a loose association of drivers. Those people in Miami who felt they had what it took under the hood to go fast and drive hard met up for a little friendly competition. At least they pretended it was friendly.

He passed a four-way stop, rounded another turn, and the night came alive with headlights, running lights, and the beat of a dozen different sound systems blaring music. There were a couple of groups dancing, some popping and grinding while others pulled out the smooth, salsa moves. People milled up and down the street, taking a look under the hood of some of the most jacked-up cars in the state.

“What’s this?” Madison asked. They passed the outlying vehicles, the people lined up to watch the beginning of the race.

“This is race night.” He revved the engine and chuckled when she jumped.

“Okay, smart-ass, I can kind of figure that one out on my own. I mean,”—she waved at the crowds gathering on the shoulder, the people set up for a show and the cars—“is this a thing? What’s going on?”

She had no idea the world she’d just stepped into.

“Every couple of weeks we have race night. Rules are simple—you have to have won a race since the last race night and someone has to verify you won. We pick a place, set the track, and see who wins. Simple, really.”

A redheaded woman stepped onto the asphalt directly in front of them. She wore a tiny pair of white shorts and a bikini top. She wiggled her fingers at him and smirked.

Roni was a damn fine driver, but you wouldn’t know it looking at her. She preferred to distract with her looks, as much as her twin, Tori, preferred to hide them under grease. Another of the guys pulled a few chairs out of

the way and Aiden reversed into the vacant spot.

“Who’s that?” Madison asked. Her posture had gone tense, rigid.

“A friend,” he replied.

He gave the accelerator one last tap to hear the purr before shutting it off. Too bad he’d been too wrapped up with a restoration job the last few weeks to make any of the propositioned races. It would have been interesting to see how Madison reacted when he burned over the finish line. Some women really got into it. Was she the type? He kind of wanted to find out.

Since meeting her that afternoon, he’d rolled around a few ways to tackle this situation. He felt pretty certain coming clean with her was the best choice. The question now was how to continue. There was no denying his attraction to her. He could play that angle, which would be a perfect explanation to Dustin why he was hanging

out with his ex-wife.

Aiden stepped out of the Challenger. The damp evening air wrapped around him like a blanket. This far out into the Everglades they might as well be swimming. Without the noise of the cars, they could hear the buzz of cicadas and calls of the birds that lived in the wetlands. It was a beautiful and deadly habitat.

Madison circled the car and met him at the edge of the road. He could feel the gaze of not just his crew on him, but everyone surrounding them. There was no doubt that when Aiden or Julian did something, people paid attention, but this was a little much. He let his gaze travel over those gathered, taking in the position of the

major players, the sideline jockeys, the outright gang members, and the other crews who just wanted to drive fast and score quick cash.

Why the hell were they staring?

He turned toward Madison—oh.

Standing in front of his Challenger, dressed like she’d just stepped off the pages of a hot-rod magazine, of course she’d draw the eyes of everyone in a quartermile radius. Those long legs were silhouetted by the running lights of his car and the thin fabric of her shirt was practically see-through.

“Come here.” He grabbed her arm and pulled her out of the light.

“What? What’s wrong with you?” Madison grumbled.

He didn’t reply, because what was he going to say?

I don’t want everyone looking at you like that.

“Hey, mami,” Julian said. He stopped between them and peered down at Madison. Julian was a big man, of

mixed Cuban and Mexican heritage. His face was scarred from an IED explosion and more than a couple fights. He still kept his hair military short, which only accentuated the broken lines of his face and his dark, soulless eyes. Julian was a man with a singular purpose in life. Little else filled him now. He was hardly the same man Aiden remembered from boot camp.

Madison arched one brow and stared up at him, as if she were issuing a challenge. Aiden might find the exchange entertaining—were she tangling with anyone else. Julian though, he wasn’t a man to be trifled with.

“Madison, this is Julian. He co-owns the shop with me.”

“Nice.”

Julian’s gaze flicked toward Aiden, but he didn’t meet it. Why had he brought her?

She put her hands on her hips and the neckline gaped forward.

Right. How could he forget those curves?

“You still racing tonight?” Aiden asked to get Julian to stop leering at Madison’s breasts. If she didn’t need Aiden in her life, then she really didn’t need Julian’s baggage barreling into hers.

Julian’s lips curled. “Yeah, heat four.”

“Hey, boys.” Tori stepped into their cluster, holding two beers. Unlike her sister, Tori wore cargo pants and a tank top, her red hair braided on either side of her head. A grease smudge marked her cheek, which was pretty much the norm. “Oh, sorry, didn’t realize you had a third. Hi, I’m Tori.” She handed the bottles to them and wiped her hand off on her pants before offering it to Madison.

“Hi.” It was almost comical to watch Madison’s face, the way it creased. She no doubt recalled Roni’s distracting shorts and bikini-top number to Tori’s cargos and tank top.

“Hey, Aiden.” Roni crossed the street at a jog. Up and down the street people stopped to stare, which was exactly why Roni picked her race-day outfits to show as much skin as possible. Distraction was her favorite tactic.

efede-coollogo_com-20005795

This was a fun read that reminded me of Fast & Furious.  I love me some bad boys and Aiden fit the bill!  Aiden is working with the FBI to take down some drug dealers and that is always a good thing.

There were some spots that I struggled with connecting with Madison but it got there.  I really liked the fact that she learned from her mistakes and chose to better herself.  The roller derby bit was awesome.

This was the first in the series and I can’t wait to see where Aiden’s crew goes from here.  If you like fast cars, hot bodies and romance then this is the book for you.  Get it now!

REVIEW BY BRANDY! MASTERED BY MAYA BANKS

What he wants, he takes with no remorse or guilt.

She stood out in his club like a gem, unspoiled and untouched. A lamb among wolves, she clearly didn’t belong. Drawn to her innocence he watched as she was surrounded by men who saw what he did—but no one but him could touch her. He summoned her to his private quarters. He sensed her fear. He also recognized the desire in her eyes. And he knew she wouldn’t leave before he possessed her. She had no need to know his secrets. Not until he had her under his complete and utter control.

What he wants, she isn’t sure she can give him.

The moment he told her want he wanted, she couldn’t resist. Instinct told her to run, but her heart said stay and walk the fine line between pleasure and pain. Though she wasn’t sure she could ever completely surrender, the primal part of her wanted to try, even knowing this man could break her in ways she never imagined. Because once he possessed her, he owned her and it would be too late to turn back. She can only pray that he doesn’t destroy her in the end.

Let me start out by saying that I love Maya Banks.  I really enjoyed the Slow Burn Novels and I love getting to read her new works.  That being said I was kind of disappointed in this story.  Evangeline was a hard character for me to connect with.  She was a bit to insecure and critical of herself.  I understand body issues or not liking yourself but she was a little more than that.

Drake.  I love stories with dominating men and submissive women.  The D/s lifestyle is one that I think gets twisted and abused in stories at times.  So, hear are a couple of my issues with the book.  Keep in mind, opinions are like assholes and everyone has them.  What doesn’t work for me might be the book that rocks your world.  To each his own.

First, no innocent is going to allow a stranger to call her into his office and go to work on her like Drake did.  Nope.  Not happening, especially one like Evangeline.  Second, hello secrets.  Drake just demands that she moves in and submits to him and she literally asks no questions?  Me on the other hand?  I need a background check, credit check, three personal references, DNA sample, lie detector test and a certified affidavit from his parents. Third, the way she allows him to treat her is just sad.  She was too innocent to allow Drake to have a stranger come in and have sex with her.  That is the type of thing that is discussed between two consenting adults beforehand not during.

Yes, I KNOW that it is all fiction but I was just disappointed in Evangeline’s character.  I don’t mind a submissive MC but I want a submissive who realizes that she has the power in the relationship.  I also know that a true D/s relationship is based on trust and that takes time to build.  These two never got to that point.

As this is a CLIFFHANGER, I will be anxiously awaiting Dominated to see if Drake has become more than the thug he seems and Evangeline can become more powerful than she appears.

REVIEW BY BRANDY! DARKEST BEFORE DAWN BY MAYA BANKS

The Kelly Group International (KGI): A super-elite, top secret, family-run business.
Qualifications: High intelligence, rock-hard body, military background.
Mission: Hostage/kidnap victim recovery. Intelligence gathering. Handling jobs the U.S. government can’t…

The enigmatic Hancock has been both opponent and ally to the KGI teams for as long as they’ve known him. Always working a deep game, Hancock’s true allegiance has never been apparent, but one thing is for certain—he never lets anything get in the way of duty.

But now, his absolute belief in the primacy of his ultimate goal is challenged by a captive he’s been ordered to guard, no matter how much she suffers in her prison. She’s the only woman who’s ever managed to penetrate the rigid walls surrounding his icy heart, but will he allow his perplexing feelings for the beautiful victim to destroy a mission he’s spent years working to complete or will he be forced to sacrifice her for “the greater good.”

I absolutely love Maya Banks.  That being said, I was expecting more from this book.
I clicked with Honor.  I understand the need to help those who can’t help themselves and her selflessness is inspiring.
Hancock.  I wanted to like him.  I really did but he just pissed me off and I couldn’t get passed the fact that he is a douche.
**SPOILER ALERT**
How the hell do you think it is okay to “rescue” someone and then turn them over to monsters?  The greater good?  That’s ridiculous.  Hancock goes into the Middle East to rescue Honor after she was the sole survivor of a terrorist attack.  The whole point of rescuing her was so she could be used as bait to try and bring down a bad guy cartel.  It just made him seem like an asshole because he seriously thought that sacrificing her for their mission was okay.
Honor was just as bad.  She was angry for a moment and then she accepted that this was the way it was going to be.  I have a problem with that.  She was stronger than that and her story should’ve reflected it.
I will continue to read Maya but I have to say that I wish this story would have been more.

Excerpt Banner

Ethan paused at the foot of the steps to be sure I was shadowing him, and with one hand in his pocket, casually ascended the stairs. I followed at a distance, the way he’d followed me on the first night we met, and as I reached the summit, I caught sight of him disappearing into a room at the end of a wide corridor. The noise from the music and chatter faded into a distant hum as I made my way down the hall, my heart hammering rhythmically against my chest as excitement built up inside me, just as it had that night. The door to the room stood slightly ajar and tentatively, I reached out to push it open. The room was in darkness, but the brightness from the hallway cast a muted light into the room, enough so that I could just make out a large, silver, Las Vegas pool table. It was a games room. Suddenly, the chrome lights above the table flicked on, drawing my attention to the high quality, smooth, black cloth covering the table. Wilde was scrawled in gray writing across the middle. The rest of the room remained in the shadows. I entered the room slowly, a quick glimpse revealing, among other things, a foosball table, a pinball machine, and several vintage arcade games. A proper boys-with-toys room. I couldn’t see Ethan, but his presence was indisputable, like an electrical force field charging the space around me, exerting his force without any tangible contact. Behind me, I heard the sound of the door closing, the key turning in the lock. A combination of apprehension and exhilaration sped through me, a shiver chasing a trail up and down my spine, continuing down and under to my naked, clenching sex. Suddenly, there was a noise from behind me, somewhere to the left in the corner of the room. The sound of a dime being pushed into a coin slot and the whirring of mechanics—a jukebox. I didn’t turn around. Ethan’s imprecise location, the unfamiliar surroundings, the uncertainty of what was about to happen, all seemed to exacerbate my arousal beyond reason, and everything south of my navel began to pulse.

I gazed in bewilderment at the stranger in the mirror as I brushed my teeth. My hair was tangled and unwashed. Dark circles surrounded my red-rimmed eyes, too large for the hollows in my pale, haunted face. Turning away in disgust, I stripped naked and climbed into the shower. The steaming hot water cascaded over my tender, aching body, cleansing and soothing me, both physically and spiritually. When I emerged, I towel dried my hair and put on my robe, knowing I had only seconds to spare. As if on cue, I heard a commotion in the hallway before Ethan burst through the door to my apartment, frantically shouting out my name. He appeared in the doorway of my bedroom from the hallway as I entered from the bathroom and stared transfixed, his eyes wide with fear. The look of torment and suffering etched on his usually seamless face reflected that which I felt, and my heart constricted at the sight of him. His face was pinched, pain and misery evident in every crease and curve of his beautiful features. His bedraggled hair and bloodshot eyes revealed a state of turmoil and sleepless nights. The transformation was devastating. He stood before me, a mere shadow of his usual assertive, confident self, and suddenly my mind reeled with conflicting emotions. I hadn’t expected this. I’d imagined him shameful—remorseful even—that his deceit had been exposed, but this was an image of a broken man. Broken like me. Part of me wanted to run into his arms and kiss away the anguish and the hurt, and the other wanted to scream at him, pound my fists violently into his chest. I did neither. I just stood, rooted to the spot, incapable of any reaction.

When I was asked to read a book called Bound for Hell, I was intrigued.  When I discovered that it was the author’s debut novel, I was interested.  I love to support my indies.  I fell in love with Angel and Ethan and I made sure that Kendra knew I was waiting for the second book.  When she approached me about Bound for Salvation, I never hesitated.

We all have demons and sometimes those demons have demolished us.  The possibility of being rebuilt, worthy and loved seem like an impossible dream.  Angel found her dream in Ethan and he is determined to show her that her walls need to crumble.

The passion and love these two share is amazing.  It is like a movie in my head that shows me what can happen when you have been retrieved from Hell and the man in front of you is offering you Heaven.  Do you take the plunge even thought there is still obstacles or do hide behind the fortress your heart as built?

Take the path that Angel and Ethan are on.  Trust me.

BLOG TOUR REVIEW! SEDUCTION BY VIOLETTA RAND (@TastyBookTours)

Perfect for readers of Abbi Glines, Seduction returns to the Devil’s Den, a Texas strip club where hearts can’t hide when the chemistry is right.
The night Marisela Gonzalez rides up to the Devil’s Den on her motorcycle, running from trouble and looking for her sister, she finds more than a place to hide out and work her red-hot body. She meets a guy brave enough to stand by a tough, terrified nineteen-year-old girl who’s been in the wrong place with the wrong jerk one too many times. And he’s ready to show Marisela how a real man treats the woman he desires.
An ex-cop taking over as the club’s head of security, Craig Hanson can handle anything—except the urgent need he suddenly feels to hold Marisela tight. Commitment has never been his thing, but all that changes when Craig finds something too real to deny between them. Sensual and vulnerable, Marisela’s got a scary past. And when it comes knocking, Craig goes all in to protect her—because seduction is the ultimate game changer.
Where do I even begin with this story?  This was one of those stories that touched me deeply on a personal level.  That doesn’t always happen but when it does, I take note.

Craig was a douche.  There wasn’t a lot that drew him to me in the beginning but it is humbling to see a man realize what his issues are and try to overcome them.  Marisela touched me deeply.  Her story is heartbreaking and the truth is that it is so very common.  Her strength and perseverance is inspiring.  While there are few things I would have changed with her actions after she returned to Corpus, the truth is we all handle these things differently.

This story is one that touches the soul and reminds us that we never truly know the pain another is hiding from.  I loved it and encourage you to read this amazing story.

Review by Brandy! Bound For Hell by Kendra Leigh

 Ethan Wilde. Billionaire. Business Man.
Passionate. Powerful. Persistent.
One of New York’s most eligible bachelors.

Angel Lawson. Photographer. Gallery Owner.
Burdened. Beautiful. Broken.
A woman bound by the ropes of her sins and forgotten past, fearful of her future.

A chance encounter…

Consumed by guilt and tormented by the bonds of a tragic past, Angel Lawson’s life has been a solitary journey, condemned to live without love. In order to preserve her damaged soul from further rejection, sex is as close to a man as she ever plans to get. She was already hell-bound for her sins. One more wasn’t going to hurt …

… or so she thought.

When a passionate encounter throws her into the world of Ethan Wilde, Angel is helpless to resist the irrefutable desire and depth of raw emotion he ignites in her.

Ethan is as intense as he is sinfully sexy. Irretrievably captivated by Angel, he seems just as intent on understanding her naked soul as he is desperate to possess every inch of her naked body.

Angel craves his touch like a drug and yearns for the love he promises, but surrendering to the feelings he’s unearthed will mean exposing her fears and releasing the demons buried for a lifetime. Exposing her heart will leave it at risk of being broken.

Will Angel choose to leave her life of solitude behind, or is the choice no longer hers?

Ethan Wilde is used to getting what he wants … and what he wants is Angel.
This book drew me in, wrapped me up and satisfied me in ways I can’t begin to describe.  Ethan is that guy.  You know the one I mean.  He is everything you ever wanted but didn’t know how to describe it all in one guy.  He is sexy, attentive and just wonderful.  Angel is a character that I adore.  She has her life and it is working for her.  She has her friends, her boy toy, and that is enough for her.  Her family leaves a lot to be desired and I can’t help but think that I am missing something in her back story and I can’t wait to discover what it is.
She wasn’t looking for Ethan but when their eyes met…the chemistry lab exploded.
Passion can blindside the best of us but when it is wrapped up and hand delivered with everything you ever wanted and dreamed about, only a fool doesn’t jump on and ride that train all the way home.  There is a bit of a cliff hanger with this story because it is a trilogy but I highly recommend you join me on Ethan and Angel’s journey.  I can’t wait to see where Ms. Leigh takes me next.

REVIEW BY BRANDY! IN HIS KEEPING BY MAYA BANKS

#1 bestselling author Maya Banks continues her suspenseful and steamy Slow Burn series with this second book—a twisting tale featuring a strong yet vulnerable heroine in danger and the sexy alpha hero who must save her.

Abandoned as a baby to a young wealthy couple and raised in a world of privilege, Arial has no hint of her past or who she belonged to. Her only link lies in the one thing that sets her apart from everyone else—telekinetic powers. Protected by her adoptive parents and hidden from the public to keep her gift secret, Ari is raised in the lap of luxury, and isolation. That is, until someone begins threatening her life.

Beau Devereaux is no stranger to the strange. As the head of Deveraux Security, he’s more than familiar with the realities of physic powers. So when a family friend approaches him about protecting his daughter, he’s more than ready to jump on board. What Beau isn’t prepared for is the extent of his attraction to his beautiful and powerful client. What began as a simple assignment, just another job, quickly turns personal as Beau discovers he’ll do anything at all to protect Ari. Even if it costs him his life.

I was given a copy of this book in exchange for a review.
I have to say that I wasn’t sure if this was going to be something that I enjoyed or not.  While I love romance, I am not huge into suspense novels.  It is one of those things that I have to be in the mood for.  That being said, I really did like this book.
Ari is a girl with a secret.  It has been one that she has had all of her life.  When it comes out into the open, she has no choice but to run to the man that her father told her to, Beau.
I like Beau.  I think he was a  good guy who has the luck to be attracted to a woman that is gifted.

The story was well-written and there was good character development.  This is the second in the series but I think you could read it as a stand alone.

Now, that being said I do think there were times when the dialogue was a little dry and repetitive but that happens.  I am also a little tired of the instant love scenarios.  I completely understand being attracted to someone but it seems like everyone is instantly jumping into bed, saying I love you or just things that seem a little outside of reality.  I know its a romance book but still…

I am a fan of Maya Banks and I would recommend you check out the series and let me know what you think.
