Synopsis
Night School Vampire Hunter (Novella#1)

Fifteen year old Dasheen Bellamy’s world is turned upside down, when she is accused of killing her father and godmother. Dasheen cannot remember the events of the night her world is destroyed, but she feels inside that she is innocent; due to lack of evidence against her and with no other family; Dasheen and her younger brother Jordan, are sent to the elusive and mysterious Ame’ Academy ; a residential school where all is not what it appears. There all goes well, until Jordan, begins to become distant and behave strangely as if he is afraid of something or someone. Jordan is transferred to Ame’ Academy’s Night School track, which is usually only open to special cases. In order to discover what is happening with her brother, Dasheen is finally allowed to also transfer, attending classes in the evening while the rest of the world sleeps. Soon Dasheen’s world changes again as she discovers that things out of fairytales and horror stories exist, that she has ancient powers and is the major player in a mystical prophecy; and then she falls in love with a boy, whose mission is to see that she is destroyed before her destiny is fulfilled…

Kindred (Night School Vampire Hunter Trilogy) Novella#2

The Kindred is the second novella in The Night School Vampire Hunter trilogy.

Angel and her friends at Ame Academy, a boarding school for preternatural and humans are back, and they are preparing for battle against the dark forces that kidnapped Angel’s younger brother Jordan. Angel had recently discovered that she was a Hunter and that she alone has a special weapon against her enemies, her blood, which is discovered to be toxic to her enemies. Angel is prepared to use her training and all that is at her disposal in order to save Jordan, even if that means joining forces with the strange and mysterious Rafael, who at their first meeting, she recognized him as the boy she had dreamed about for weeks prior to his arrival at the school. Angel cannot shake the feeling that she knew Rafael before, and is hopelessly drawn to her extremely handsome fellow hunter.

Rafael frightens her, he hints of a secret; another time and another life lived.

Can love survive two lifetimes?

Events unfold that provides the answers to who Rafael really is and what they mean to one another; and along with these strange and blossoming emotions for Rafael, along with guilt and fear for her brothers safety; Angel discovers that she is more than just a Vampire Hunter, and that she plays a major role in a ancient prophecy, which she must fulfill by facing a force so evil that survival is not promised.

“Before concentrating on my writing and publishing, I was the Director of an before and after-school program for grades fifth thru eighth grade. The idea to focus my writing and on-line publishing endeavors… combining music and reading… actually stemmed from the kids. I had been repeatedly told by my Center kids, that kids that read do not listen to “cool” music and vice versa, so I wanted to show my kids something different. I launched a blog in January 2011 which interviews and spotlights Musicians and Authors…and I also began an on-line internet radio program called IndieReview Behind The Scenes Internet Radio through Blogtalk in March 2012.

This past November of 2013 we celebrated over 100,000 listens! I have since then acquired a co-host, Author Jamie White and three guest hosts for various segments, and music plays a huge part in all I do. Our goal is to have a platform and bring the readers and music listeners together.

It has become a very successful venture, it which I am very grateful.

Cecile Monique, a very talented music artist #GothRock has been extremely gracious to also take a hold of this vision, has jumped in bringing the vision of Night School Vampire Hunter Trilogy to a new level with her single #Kindred inspired by the second novella in the series.

Nine years later, she walks into the community college English class Cal is teaching. Only this girl claims her name is Sophie Becker and she doesn’t know him. Cal knows better. He’s determined to get the girl he loves back—and protect her from the danger that took her away all those years ago.

Caleb is a teacher at the local community college working his way up to becoming a professor.  He has hunted for the woman who everyone told him was dead.  Caleb does not believe it because his heart says she is still alive.  It seems he tried to have relationships but no one has ever been able to measure up to Sylvie. 

Sylvie was taken from Caleb at the age of sixteen and was still in love with him years later to the point of following him from afar.  Finally, fears later she takes on of Calab’s classes just to see him then everything comes to a head as he see her. 

The chemistry between Caleb and Sylvie is blistering.  They have a hard time staying away from each other.  It shows how much they care about each other.  The sex scenes were scorching.  The ending is what blew me away.  I did not see it coming at all. 

I liked this book a lot but what I found confusing was for the first third of the book (less once you’re past that point) or so it went back and forth between the past and the present.  That is one of my biggest pet peeves because I find very distracting.  The main and secondary characters were fascinating and genuine. I loved that this book was told from Caleb’s point of view.  Overall, I adored this book and wish I can find man who loves me just like Caleb loves Sylvie.

Interview with a Master is the first book in the Interview with a Master series by Jason Luke.  This author does a wonderful job of drawing you into the story in a realistic way and not letting you go until the very end.  I cannot wait to read the next book in the series.  I loved this book a lot.  It was not what I expected the story to be and it kind of reminded me of Interview with a Vampire by Anne Rice.  

Jason Noble is a Master and he is set on telling his story his way.  Jason comes across as open, and forthcoming about his past and brutally honest about his past in many ways. However, I did wonder if he picked a journalist not in the lifestyle because he was hiding something and he did not think she would pick it up or she would be too focused on the sex scenes and miss something he did not want to call attention too. 

This book is very well written with interesting main and secondary characters.  I read this book in one sitting.  I was sucked into this story.  I was struck by how realistic this story comes across.  While the ending is unexpected, it does come as realistic.  I enjoyed reading this story from a male perspective.  It had a much different tone than if it was told from the interviewer’s perspective.   Overall, this was a wonderful book and I literally cannot wait to read the next book in the series.

Review1I LOVE THE SINNERS!  I was contacted by the author to read this book because I read the first one and LOVED it.  I am not a huge hockey fan but this team is under my skin.

Reese is a goalie.  Plain and simple, that is the life he has known.  When an injury puts him on the bench and talks of trading start abounding, he struggles with his anger and resentment.  When he is told that he has to see the new team shrink, he knows he will say and do anything to get the doctor to release him.

Allie knows how an injury can change an athlete’s life and she will do all she can to help Reese.  She just didn’t expect the punch to the gut that she gets at the sight of the sexy goalie.  Being a team shrink is not easy and I liked how she stepped outside of the box and took on patients who weren’t necessarily on the team.  It shows she has a heart and empathy.

Aaron Collins is a CIA agent who has worked in the government long enough that he does not take much on faith. Aaron has a nickname that only the love of his life calls him, Angel.  Therefore, when the Army comes to him reporting the death of his husband Jordan, Aaron wants proof, like a body.  Therefore, the CIA agent does what he does best and looks in it to find an answer.

Jordan Collins is captain in the Army.  He has one last mission then he is out of the Army and looking to spend more time with his husband, Angel.  What happens is he get taken prisoner and with his county not looking for him because they all think he is dead makes Jordan realize that he has to save himself if he wants to go home to Angel.

Angel’s Truth is the first book in the Angel series by Liz Borino.  I found this book well written.  The main and secondary characters were interesting and engaging.  My only issue with this book is it was not long enough and not as flushed out as I would have liked.  However, I enjoyed reading this story and I wanted to know what happens next.  I can’t wait to read the next book in the series.

A wonderful love story involving a true test of faith that will melt your heart!

I loved the determination and strength Aaron exhibited, as everyone around him lost hope.  What seems to be an act of lunacy to others is simply an act of true love.  Of course, Jordan’s struggles amplified my compassion for such an amazingly loyal and courageous couple.   Jordan’s need to get back to his husband alive was inspiring.  The willpower to survive his horrible circumstances was matched by the bravery of a young woman risking her life to save him.   Unfortunately, with powerful enemies running the show from both sides, the outcome for all involved may not be a happy one.

Aaron “Angel” Collins has driven his family and friends away because he has not accepted the death of his husband.  The only person that has stuck by him is Major General Troy Hart.  Troy is attracted to Aaron and seems to use everything he can to get Aaron to fall for him.  

Aaron is surprised by the re-appearance of Jordan.  He is also taken back by how broken inside and out Jordan is especially with the Court Marshall upcoming as to how he arrived home.  Aaron figures out who is to blame and set off to protect not just himself but Jordan as well. 

Angel’s Truth is the second book in the Angel series by Liz Borino.  This book is part of a series and is best read in order to best understand the plot and characters.  I found this book well written.  The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic.  Overall, I loved this story.  I wonder if there will be another story about these characters in the future.  I hope so.

This quick read was a satisfying end to an intriguing military thriller. 

Although he’s home, Jordan’s nightmares are still haunting him.  As the PTSD and physical recovery takes its toll on him and Aaron, their betrayer continues his treacherous ways. They race against time, while looking over their shoulder, to stop a killer before he strikes again.

Once again, this couple displays an amazing amount of love and support for one another.  I learned a few things during the erotic scenes that I was completely unaware of, and Aaron’s “sassy” side came out a little more in this installment.  The story line wraps up both novels in a tragic, but wonderful manner.

Alexa is not just a beautiful woman but also independent.  She is a strong woman who reminds me of the girl next-door type.  She loves shoe shopping when she is upset to the point her closet if full to the brim.  She hides from her past not willing to discuss it with anyone other than her therapist but even then does not get the whole story.   She continually blames herself for her past. 

Julian is the owner of Hotel del Marco.  He is fascinated with Alexa and can’t get enough of her.  He is a hot and sexy man who is also rich.  Alexa is not interested in his money and had a hard time understanding why he is attracted to her.   Julian struggles to prove her wrong and make the relationship with Alexa work. 

The chemistry between Julian and Alexa is blistering.  The sex scenes were hot and steamy.  Julian has to battle the rumors Alexa’s best friend Luke spreads that Alexa is totally unaware of.  He also has to battle Alexa’s poor self-image as well. 

I found this book to be well written.  The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic.  I was drawn into this story and I read this book in one sitting.    While I am not fond of cliffhanger endings this one was done very well and it did not leave me angry and frustrated.  I cannot wait to read the next book when it comes out.  Overall, this was a great novel.

Adam Blake is an ex-CIA operative that has done his best to keep his identity secret from almost everyone around him.  The biggest is his maternal grandfather who runs a crime syndicate in Eastern Europe.  The minute he relaxes his best friend, partner, and mother of his child is killed.  Therefore, Adam does what he hoped not to do, go to his father’s family for help.  The very family who don’t even know he exists. 

Adam has had a hard life making decisions even at a young age that he should not have had too.  He meets Calista Martin along the way and takes her on this dangerous journey he takes.  The more time they spend together, they both fall for each other.  Adam’s daughter also loves Calista at first sight and refuses to release her hold on her.  Adam’s daughter, Anna has abilities that are unexplainable and she even at the tender age of 4 manages to help her father in his battle.  

While I found this book well written, I felt all the way through the book like I was missing something.  Almost like this is part of a series I am unaware of.  The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic.  While this book is very slow to start if you stick with it, it will slowly draw you into the story and not let go until the very end of the book.  Overall, this was an interesting book.
