I watched her reach for the two Kiss Me candy hearts and clasp them between her dainty fingers. Seductively, she brought one to her mouth and placed it carefully between her teeth so the heart was upright and the words faced out.

My heart thundered in my chest as I watched her turn slightly in my direction and advance closer to me with the candy heart still clasped between her teeth. She placed her hand on my bare thigh and leaned forward, offering her lips and the sweet candy heart to me.

Unhurriedly, our lips melded together in an explorative kiss. Blasts of sweet sugar and soft lips consumed my senses. Just the touch of her mouth on mine made me weak in the knees.

Kara gently pushed her tongue into my mouth, allowing the sweetness of the candy to flow onto my taste buds. Our tongues met and tangled together, hot and heavy, full of sensual intensity.

My eyes fluttered shut as I brought my fingers up to her face and cradled her cheek and jaw in my hand. I felt her muscles loosen as the tension left her body in waves. Such a tender touch was all she needed to relax and enjoy the moment.

Kara’s hands firmly grasped both of my bare thighs as she deepened the kiss with passion and fire. Pushing her body further into our embrace, I opened my eyes for a moment so I could gauge her reaction and see her beautiful face.

Soft, closed eyelids with long, beautiful eyelashes stared back at me. An indulgent moan escaped my chest at the sight of her so close and full of passion.

A sigh of disappointment almost escaped me as Kara pulled away. Luckily, our separation was just long enough for her to bring the other heart candy to my lips this time. Placing it between my teeth with care, she trailed her fingertip along my bottom lip before grasping gently at my chin and closing the distance from her mouth to mine once more. Her take-charge control was making her even more desirable at this moment.

Another spark of energy ignited between us as our lips met again. Sharing the second candy heart, our tongues tangled together in a heated twist of lust. I was thankful these candies melted slowly, giving me that much more time with her lips pressed to mine.

This was my first time kissing a girl and I was confident it wouldn’t be my last. Kara’s lips were silky-soft and her touch was tender and adoring. Nothing like a rough, domineering possession one would get from a man. There was no battle for control or fumbling of tongues. We had this unspoken coordination and understanding that took my breath away. The kiss was perfect.. It was like we were meant to meld our lips together.

Knowing I couldn’t take any more without touching her more intimately, I decided to slow things down and back away. She held my head with both of her hands, lacing her fingers into my wild, red hair. Our breaths were short and erratic. With our foreheads pressed together, the tension between us exploded like a firecracker, sizzling through our bodies.

“Wow,” Kara whispered as she gazed at me through lazy, lust-filled eyes, our foreheads still touching marginally as we took in deep breaths. Her beautiful, light brown irises looked so much more vibrant when she was turned on, like dark swirls of honey and milk chocolate.

“Yeah,” I agreed, knowing I had waited such a long time for her mind-blowing kiss to overtake me. Forgotten were my doubts and fears. All that existed in this moment was her.

Her touch—her kiss—consumed me entirely.

This was a short story that was hot and spicy!  I am not going to go into details, simply because of it’s length.  I do think that Sam should have grabbed the bull by the horn and told Kara how she felt sooner.  Life is way to short to sit around wondering if someone is going to be upset because you think they are sexy as hell and want to be with them. 

This is the first in the Roommate Romance series by Rene Folsom and I am looking forward to more from this engaging author!

I was given a copy of this book for an honest review.  I was not compensated.  This was a book that touched my homesick soul.  I grew up on the Outer Banks of North Carolina where this book is set in.  Right from the beginning, I was hooked.  I can’t tell you how many times, I have watched Jim Cantore from the Weather Channel show up in the neighborhood to track hurricanes.  When you have spent your life in and around the coast, you know the signs of a storm.  So, when this book starts out with a storm, I know Sherryl Woods knows my homeland coast.

The Ocean Breeze series is based on three sisters.  Sand Castle Bay is the the story of Emily.  She grew up in a small coastal town and fell in love.  In a mess of young adult confusion, she leaves the area to fulfill her dream of becoming an interior designer.  She succeeds beyond her wildest imagination.  However, it seems like it is missing something. 

Boone loved Emily and was destroyed when she left.  He married a woman who loved him and they had a child, BJ, together.  She passed away and Boone feels remorse and regret that a part of him continued to love Emily.

When Emily and her sisters come home to help their grandmother fix the family restaurant, Emily is shocked to discover that Boone is a widower and the feelings she had for him are still just as strong as they were a decade ago.  This is an amazing story and I can’t wait for the next in the series!  Sidenote.  Don’t ever let anyone make you feel like you are the cause of their unhappiness.  Let bygones be bygones before you lose the ones you love.

OH MY GOD! OH MY GOD! This book is amazing! As I read, Quinn transports me into the book. I felt the emotional trials and triumphs. I ran with the wolves. My heart was ripped right out of my chest in the cliffhanger ending. I sat and cried and called my sister (she too is a huge fan) before I could finish reading the last paragraph.

I am sure that all fans of the “Grey Wolves” have a favorite couple or Alpha. I KNOW I DO. Fate and Fury, Book 7 in this series brings together all Alphas and is an amazing story of “together we stand but divided we fall.” The packs have been facing all the crap that Mona (the evil witch) can throw at them. Let’s just say that I stood up and gave Vasile a high five at his handling of her. I found my own howl! 

I love the new characters that are introduced and the depths created. I loved the fact that Quinn showed us in the book that life is not always “peaches and cream” and that relationships have issues that must be worked through together.

Quinn Loftis did not disappoint! I have been a Grey Wolves fan from the very beginning. This is book 7 in this series. They all get better and more intense as the time passes.  If you have never read this series, this is a must add to your libraries.

Hey, Kittens!  I enjoyed Shae’s review of this book so much that I am adding Quinn Loftis to my TBR list.  I am not familiar with this author but if it can make a girl howl, I wanna read it!
