Matter of Time - Alannah Lynne
Blurb:
Some might think the phrase, “you complete me” is a just cheesy line from the movies, but Lizbeth Sanders knows better…
In MATTER OF TIME, Lizbeth has spent the past fifteen years desperately searching for someone to fill the void left by Logan Steele’s disappearance from her life. However, rather than finding love and happiness, all she’s found is disappointment, heartache, and an ever-present longing for the man she can never have. Fifteen years ago, Logan Steele left the woman he loved to marry his high school sweetheart and be a father to the child he didn’t know he had. He’s always tried to do the honorable thing, to be a good husband and a great father, but despite his sacrifices and best efforts, the shaky foundation of his marriage crumbles and falls apart. When his identical twin surprises him with a reintroduction to Lizbeth, Logan feels like he’s been given a second chance—at life and love. But a lot can change in fifteen years, and after hurting her so badly the first time, building trust isn’t just hard, it’s nearly impossible—especially when duty and obligation pulls him away again.

CeeCee’s Review:
Being a native of S.C., this immediately piqued my curiosity!

Hidden within the erotic story of Lizbeth and Logan is a sweet sense of nostalgia, and what might have been. There is a great deal of sex, which was fine by me & wonderfully written, but everything else is secondary. The drama going on in the background was easily dismissed, and most of the story takes place over a weekend in Myrtle Beach.  The fast-paced storyline covers a lot of ground in record time, and comes together nicely in the end.
Quick, sexy, and fun!

Excerpt:

She couldn’t logically think through something that was ninety-nine percent emotional, but what if she took the emotion out of it? What if she reduced them to a baser, primal level, like animals circling each other in the wild? A dog in heat didn’t study the neighbor’s Doberman and wonder if he would be around the next day. The bitch rolled over, allowed him to take what he wanted, and enjoyed the hell out of it. Comparing her and Logan to dogs seemed ridiculous, but that was the only way she knew to cope with the overwhelming magnitude of the situation. Swallowing the lump in her throat, she slowly, tentatively reached out to him. With a barely-there touch, she pressed her index finger to the edge of his forehead, drew it across the unfamiliar scar at his temple, then down to the one intersecting his upper lip. He closed his eyes and moaned as a shudder shook his torso and his head fell back on his neck. Seeing him respond to her touch as strongly as ever gave her the courage to continue her exploration. Using a whisper-soft touch designed to drive him crazy, she traced the outline of his upper lip, then pulled a long, slow sweep along the bottom one. Her breath caught in her throat and she gasped in surprise as his lips parted and his teeth latched onto her finger, capturing her in the velvety heat of his mouth. His tongue wrapped around her and he sucked once… twice… a third time. The force of the suction shot through her arm, into her chest, and dropped into her sex with the heat and intensity of an atomic bomb. Good, so freaking good, just as always with him. Simple caresses and touches were more powerful and intimate than full-on sex with anyone else, and she closed her eyes and allowed the carnal energy swirling between them to carry her away. As the room spun and she grew lightheaded, like being caught in a massive vortex, a terrifying thought jumped into her brain. What if the past fifteen years hadn’t been a nightmare, but this was nothing more than a dream? If so, it was the best, most realistic dream she’d ever experienced, and she prayed she never woke up. She cracked her eyes open and watched his nostrils flare as the heat continued to build between them. She needed to be closer. To taste him. To feel him pressed against her. Scooting to the edge of her seat, she pressed her knees between his legs and smiled as his eyes flashed hotter and his chest rose and fell rapidly. His mouth was masterful, and while the suction on her finger did crazy things to her entire body, it wasn’t enough. When she tugged on her hand, drawing him closer while also indicating she wanted him to let her go, he released her finger with a loud pop. The sound was like a starting gun, and in the next instant, his lips crashed down on hers, hot, hard, and demanding. Logan had always been sexually dominant, but this… this was unlike anything she remembered. One hand slid through the hair at her temple, then wrapped around the back of her head and held her in place while he angled his head and deepened the kiss. His tongue thrust in and out of her mouth, harsh and nearly punishing, and when he nipped on her bottom lip, both of them groaned with the pleasurable familiarity. The past fifteen years melted away, and she was a twenty-year-old girl again, standing in his bedroom, getting ready to crawl into his bed for the first time. They’d kept their relationship platonic for a year, respecting the boundary constraining them because of his off-and-on relationship with Bobbi Jo. But the night he came back to school and told Lizbeth he and Bobbi Jo had broken things off for good, it took less than thirty minutes to ditch their friends at the restaurant and make their way back to his condo. His hands tangled in her hair and held her head in place as he ravished her mouth. She clawed at his shirt, trying to get to the hard muscle and soft skin beneath. She couldn’t get close enough, fast enough, and desperation had her whimpering into his mouth. When he drew back to grab a breath, she latched onto him to keep him close. “More. I need more.”

 Review

This is a nice erotica that gets the blood flowing!
The passionate relationship between the main characters kept me enthralled throughout, but there was a lot going on in the background. Raina and Logan have the perfect chemistry, but she’s got a great deal of emotional baggage to ditch. I couldn’t quite relate with her, as far as how she’s judged due to her occupation or the fact that she even cares, but once paired with Logan she loosens up a bit. Logan; however, handles his affairs accordingly and knows exactly what he wants. Strong and domineering, he is a force that perseveres.
I loved the sensuality of the book, as it’s written in a perfectly naughty manner, but Logan was my hook! Raina lacked the essential unwavering confidence that’s necessary for a heroine, but when she’s on her game she’s great. The mystery is enough to keep one in suspense, and the lead into the next installment is intriguing. I enjoyed this read, but it was all about the sex for me!

About The Author

Erika Wilde (aka Janelle Denison) is the USA Today bestselling author of over 50 contemporary romances for multiple print publishers.
So, why the new pen name?
As Janelle Denison I’ve always written sexy books, but lately my writing has taken on more erotic elements that I wanted to keep separate for readers because not everyone likes their reading material on the spicier, kinkier side of romance. However, please be assured that even as Erika Wilde, you will still get an emotionally layered story with characters you’ll care about and fall in love with. That is always my goal, whether I’m writing straight contemporary romances, or more erotically charged stories.
Currently, I’m working on The Marriage Diaries and making sure that Dean and Jillian enjoy exploring the more erotic side to their marriage. The series will be on-going, with no foreseeable ending as of right now, for as long as readers want to be voyeurs to Dean and Jillian’s sizzling new relationship.
I’m also planning a spin-off series in the future, featuring the hot military men that work security for Dean at Noble and Associates.

Excerpt

Chapter One

Alex grieved as she looked toward the Louvre for possibly the last time. She wrapped her arms across her chest and tried to steady her breath. Overhearing Luc’s plan to celebrate their four-month anniversary by murdering her had set off her own plan of running as far away from him as possible—not an effective plan, considering the monster sat within six inches of her in a car on the way to her death.

What began as a fairy-tale romance had morphed into a traumatic descent into hell. A glamorous job, a handsome client, a little romance, a perfect life, until she uncovered his deception. Luc was a crook.

And I was the gullible appraiser used to dupe art collectors and even small countries out of their valuable assets. What an idiot I was to believe his lies.

While his main henchman, Pascal, drove them through Paris, Luc held her hand in the back of the Mercedes like they were still lovers. They appeared perfect for each other, a rich art collector and the young art appraiser who had fallen head over heels for him. Rugged good looks combined with an enormous amount of wealth made him an ideal catch for a woman who didn’t mind being beaten into submission.

Not me. I objected to every broken bone and every bruise on my body.

Luc, dressed in a thousand-dollar suit and wearing a sophisticated five-o’clock shadow across his chiseled features, seemed headed out for a night at the theater, not on the way to eliminate his girlfriend. Alex leaned away from him. She needed to get away. His free hand caressed her arm, rubbed her shoulder, and pulled her back toward him. Moving slowly, seductively, he wrapped his fingers around her neck and started to squeeze. He stared at her, observing her reaction.

“I promise I won’t tell anyone. I swear it.” She pleaded for her life, speaking French, the only language they’d ever used with each other. As his hand tightened, she gasped and struggled for breath.  Luc drew her face closer to his. His lips pinched together, causing the muscles in his neck to tense. “Liar.”

She struggled to pull away; his grip tightened. No longer able to inhale, her eyes watered and her vision faded. With nothing left to lose, she struck out at his face. He released her, but slapped her ear so hard, her head flew into the door. The pain ricocheted through her skull, leaving her numb for a moment.

She glanced out the window and saw salvation. As Pascal slowed for a turn, she opened the door and jumped. Her Chanel suit acted as her only protection when she hit the ground and bounced onto the road. Asphalt scraped her skin with each rotation until she slammed into the curb. Pain rebelled in ribs not yet healed from her fall down Luc’s marble stairway. Car brakes screeched nearby. In seconds, they would be on her. She hobbled to her feet, sucking in huge breaths. Bystanders pressed around her, trying to assist, but she twisted away, her hands poised to fight anything that touched her.

She merged into the manic crowd entering the Gare du Nord at rush hour. Men and women in suits, groups of schoolchildren, and what felt like hundreds of tourists slowed her escape. With her passports tucked in a travel belt under her skirt and several hundred euros in her possession, she boarded the high-speed train for London and prayed he wouldn’t follow her.

REVIEW! The Space Between by Kate Canterbary

SYNOPSIS
Some lines are meant to be crossed.
Patrick That hair. That fucking hair. It was everywhere, always, and I wanted to tangle my fingers in those dark curls and pull. And that would be fine if she wasn’t my apprentice.
Andy My wants were few: good eats, tall boots, hot yoga, interesting work. One incredibly hot architect with the most expressive hazel eyes I ever encountered and entirely too much talent in and out of the bedroom wasn’t part of the original plan. Apparently he was part of the package.
Wine was my rabbi and vodka was my therapist, and I needed plenty of both to survive my apprenticeship. Especially with Patrick Walsh leaving love notes in the form of bite marks all over my body.

REVIEW
This book exudes sexiness! The author is beyond extraordinary and I will buy anything she writes!
The leading female character, Andy, is strong, intelligent, independent, and confident. Patrick is the quintessential Irishman, which in my dictionary means strong, sexy, intense, stubborn, and moody. Externally, her composure remains cool and dispassionate, which drives him borderline obsessive. Internally, they are both going insane just to be close to one another. Their chemistry is atomic!
I was addicted the moment I started! I’ve grown tired of reading about docile women lately, which makes this novel a refreshing change. Andy makes Patrick earn her trust, though it’s not a game. Although their banter is playful, and sometimes spicy, the undertones are endearing.
The Welsh family is adorable, quite lovable, and each sibling complements another. I can’t wait to see who finds love next!
There are several elements that play a part in the brilliance of this erotic novel as a whole. The characters are amazing, the writing is incisive, and the romance is alluring. Point of view is bounced between the hero and heroine decisively, enriching the quality of the read. Research, or extensive knowledge, of Sustainable Architecture is evident. This author has an astute and articulate writing style.
I’ve already purchased the first installment of this series, and I will not miss another!

REVIEW

Grotesque, terrifying, and simply too good to put down!
Cleverly written, the story unfolds one point of view at the time. With each chapter, my anxiety level escalated and I couldn’t seem to read it fast enough. Just when I became sure that I had perceptively figured everything out, the story took another turn. The characters are placed strategically, sometimes with heartbreaking consequences, and every jolting experience had me chasing shadows. While the ending leaves an opening for the next installment, this segment wraps up rather nicely!
I’d like to add one small note:
I abhor, and I mean hate, young children involved in horror novels or movies. I have literally walked out of movies or stopped reading books from certain authors, due to this hang up of mine. The brilliance of Fox Chapman is that he made his monsters, MONSTERS. There was no hang up to have here. His evil creations were gory, scary, and something I wanted dead, FOREVER.

Review by Brandy

My apologies to the author on the lateness of this review.

This was a really enjoyable read.  FYI, it is a cliffhanger but I don’t mind those.  Jade is one of those people that seems to have to struggle in life.  When she is offered a full ride to a great college she accepts.  I am the type that would have seriously questioned this but I don’t believe anything is given away for free.  Anyway, she meets Garrett and he is not who she expects him to be.  He slowly gains her trusts only to lose it when life and others get in the way.  Garrett’s family doesn’t want him to have anything to do with Jade and I like when a character steps away from the mold and stands up for themselves.

This is a really nice start to a series and I am interested in seeing where Ms. Everhart takes it.

After dinner, we go back to his room. It’s the first time I’ve been to the second floor. The hallway stinks like beer and sweat. Luckily Garret’s room doesn’t have that odor and it’s much cleaner than I imagined it would be. He has a ton of electronics, including the big TV he mentioned along with a surround sound system. And there are at least 100 movies sitting in a big cardboard box on the floor.

“Pick whatever you want,” he says as I flip through the movies.

“You have quite a setup here. It’s like your own movie theater. I don’t even have a TV.”

“You don’t? You need a TV, Jade.”

“No, I don’t. If I want to watch something I’ll just use the one down the hall.”

“That one barely works. If you want to watch TV, come up here.”

“I’m not going to do that. I hardly ever watch TV anyway. Here. Let’s watch this one.” I hold up a cartoon, trying to keep a straight face. “It says it’s about some dogs that solve crimes.”

“How did that get in there? That’s my little sister’s movie.”

“It’s okay, Garret. I don’t care if you like cartoons.”

“That is not my movie. She must’ve stuck it in the box when I wasn’t looking.”

I laugh. “Yeah, sure she did.”

“Give it here.” He reaches for it, but I won’t let him have it. I quickly stand up, holding it behind my back with one hand while putting my other hand out in front of me trying to keep him away.

He quickly backs me up against the wall, forcing my outstretched hand against his hard chest. I lower it to my side as he leans his hand on the wall near my head. Then he slowly reaches behind me with his other hand to get the movie. Our bodies are now touching and our faces are just inches apart. My heart is beating erratically and I struggle to keep my breathing steady as I feel his body against mine.

“Jade.” He gazes down at me with this incredibly sexy smile. “Give me the movie, please.” I try not to stare at his lips but they’re so close and so inviting.

The movie is still in my hand wedged between my lower back and the wall. I push my hips forward slightly to release it, which positions me even closer to him. As he goes to take the movie, I accidentally drop it and he catches it, right behind my butt. I feel his hand there and I freeze as my face heats up. He slowly takes his hand out from behind me and rests it on the wall by my head. I realize I’ve been holding my breath and I force myself to breathe again.

I look up and our eyes meet. “For the last time, the movie is my sister’s. But if you really want to watch the crime-fighting dog cartoon, we’ll watch it. Or,” he pauses and that sexy smile reappears, “if you want to do something else, we’ll do something else.”

I know from his tone what ‘something else’ is and I really, really want to do ‘something else’ but I promised myself I wouldn’t get involved with a guy at college. Unfortunately, I’ve never been very good with promises.

Description of The Jade Series

The Jade Series is a New Adult Romance that follows the relationship of Jade and Garret in their first year of college. In Choosing You, (Jade 1), Jade and Garret meet on Jade’s first night at Moorhurst College and despite their strong attraction to each other, they’re not allowed to date because of the strict rules that control Garret’s life. In Knowing You, (Jade 2), Garret breaks the family rules and begins dating Jade. Their relationship grows deeper but issues from Jade’s past complicate matters. Loving You (Jade 3) shows Jade and Garret growing closer as a couple but also hints at the trouble that lies ahead in Promising You (Jade 4), in which a new challenge emerges for Garret that could interfere with the future he wants with Jade. Originally, book 4 was the end of the series, but fans wanted more of Jade and Garret, so Allie recently published Forever You, an all-new, full-length follow-up book to The Jade Series.

MULTIPLE REVIEWS! A COLLAR FOR CHRISTMAS BY A.E LAWLESS

Title: A Collar For Christmas

Author: A.E. Lawless

Publisher: Loose ID

Publication Date: 24th December 2013

Genre: M/M BDSM

Hosted By:Luscious Laylah Release Day

Blurb

For actor Liam, anxiety and panic attacks are old friends, but they only get worse the more famous he gets. Nothing has ever worked to help him control the anxiety until his costar, Aaron, introduces him to bondage. Too bad Liam develops feelings for Aaron and ruins the only solution he’s ever found for his neuroses.

Aaron only wants to keep history from repeating itself. He’s already had one costar spin out of control, resulting in her tragic death, he can’t just sit idly by and watch another friend and colleague destroy himself from the inside out. He’ll do anything to keep that from happening–even enter into a non-sexual BDSM arrangement with him. What starts out as a way to control Liam’s anxiety becomes so much more. At least for Liam. So, tired of pretending he doesn’t want Aaron in his life for good, Liam decides to give him the perfect Christmas gift. The kind that will show Aaron exactly what Liam wants from their relationship: the collar he’s been dreaming of Aaron putting on him for months.

 Review3

I liked this book a lot more than I thought I would, from the blurb the book came across as stereotypical.  However, after reading the book it was not that in the least.  Liam struggles with panic attacks, anxiety not from his job as an actor but it seems the fame, and the expectations that come with the fame drive it.  Liam is an extremely likeable character.  He is well aware of his issues and tries his best to work on them. It also seems that Liam has issues one type or another most of his life.

Aaron is Liam’s costar seems to be the only one able to help Liam when his panic attacks and anxiety spin out of control.   Aaron seems to be helping Liam not just to help Liam but also to help him deal with his past.  Aaron comes across as a hardheaded likable guy that can bury his head in the sand and not face what is in front of him.

The chemistry between Aaron and Liam is blistering.  I am surprised they were involved in a non-sexual BDSM relationship for as long as they were.  I loved the sex scenes at the end.  It was perfect way for their relationship to progress.  I admire the strength and courage it took for Liam to tell Aaron his needs even if it meant that Aaron would walk away.  Not many people can do that even on their best days.

I found this book extremely interesting.  I had a hard time putting this book down.  I found it to be well written.  The main and secondary characters were interesting and realistic.  Overall, this was a great book one that I can see rereading in the future (and to me that is the best complement a writer can get).  I have not read anything by this author before but I will be keeping my eyes out for more.

Review by Tomme

Liam is a young star on a hit TV show, but he has a problem.  He is shy and has had a serious problem with anxiety for his entire life.  Just when he thinks that he can’t hack it anymore, in comes Aaron, his friend and co-star on the show.

Aaron wants to help his friend get though his issues, partly out of friendship and partly to make amends for a skeleton in his past.  Liam and Aaron figure out a solution to help with Liam’s problems, one that really blurs the lines between friendship and something more.

As these things tend to do , the relationship gets more complicated by the fact that Liam is developing stronger feelings for Aaron. Liam desperately needs to know if the feelings are mutual so on a whim he buys Aaron a leather collar for Christmas, knowing that one way or another he will get his answer…

I was a little skeptical going into this book as it is not my norm, but I was pleasantly surprised by the authors ability to pull me in and really make me feel for the characters.  You really can’t help but feel the angst of the main characters and to understand what they are going through.  The story moved along at a slow pace at first but picked up as you read on and ended up turning into a good read.  I especially liked the secondary characters because instead of just fodder to fill the background with they were well thought out and real, had depth and added to the overall telling of the story.  The main characters also developed and changed, which as we know is what happens in real life.  All in all a good read, and I definitely will read more books by this author.

BLOG TOUR STOP! STAY WITH ME BY A.C. MARCHMAN

Stay With Me Cover

Blurb:

Allie Marshall, PA student, and Dr. Donovan Callahan have overcome such intense drama in their short relationship. Dealing with thoughts of Claire, his ex who sits in jail for murdering her husband, to Allie’s secret past, has been extremely stressful. From the day they met, it has been hot and heavy; both of them giving into their wants and needs. The pair have thrown caution to the wind and …just went with their hearts. All seems well, finally, and Allie is letting go of her insecurities, which could ultimately threaten to be her downfall. That is, until someone from Donovan’s past decides to make a surprise and unwelcome appearance at a wedding the couple attends. A shocking announcement is made that will force Allie to question everything about Donovan– his honesty, his character, even his feelings for her. Will this be the final straw, or will this be a test of strength of their feelings for each other?

 Excerpt:

“Let’s lose this, shall we?” he growls, unsnapping my bra with one hand. The straps slip down my shoulders, exposing just the tops of my breasts. Donovan pulls it the rest of the way off, then works on removing my panties. I take my turn and remove his boxers. We are wrapped in each others arms, our bare skin touching. Desire courses through my veins and I can’t wait for him to bring me to the brink of ecstasy.

He gently rolls me to my back, then props himself on his elbow to gaze down at me. “I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of seeing you like this,” he whispers, his fingers skim over my belly. I bite my lip, trying to hold back my moan. He bends his head down and starts to press his lips against my skin, starting at my neck. His mouth moves down my body with each kiss, making me squirm and grip the sheets. He spends a little extra time on my breasts, taking my nipples into his mouth and softly nipping them. His breath is hot against my flesh, making me feel like I’m on fire.

RELEASE DAY REVIEW!! IF THE SHOE FITS BY AMBER T. SMITH (@Crimson_Romance, @Amber_T_Smith_)

Blurb:

Life isn’t a fairy tale… except when it is.

There’s nothing wrong with Ella Gibson’s life— it just isn’t very exciting, despite being surrounded by lingerie. Working for Cardiff’s top modelling agency should have been glamorous, but most of the time Ella is running around with memos and cups of coffee. It’s a far cry from living the dream, but skirting the edge of her fantasy life is enough.

Then comes the day when her cat starts to talk, claiming to be Ella’s fairy godmother. As if that weren’t crazy enough, the pesky puss becomes a fashion advisor and behavioral expert, too. Add an evil ex-stepmother, a hunk called Charming, plus a looming party-cum-ball, and you have all the elements of a classical fairy tale. There’s even a couple of ugly sisters—the fact that they are two gorgeous gay men being neither here nor there.

Ella’s not your typical fairy-tale princess though, and it will take more than a discarded glass slipper to get her man. It’s quite possible she may have to curb her enthusiasm for cursing a wee bit, not to mention her love of vodka. And can Muse, her surprisingly straight-laced feline friend, overcome her prudishness long enough for Ella to sneak a kiss or three with her intended beau?

Review:

This was such a fun take on a fairy tale story!  Ella is your typical Girl Friday, just trying to make her way in life.  With the help of her two male best friends, she succeeds but there is still something missing.  Enter Muse, her talking fairy godmother cat.  Muse is determined to help Ella attract the attention of her new boss.  Unfortunately after meeting Max Charming, Ella turns into the world’s biggest klutz.  Throw in a trip to Gretna Green, hot men in kilts and a drunk lady in a wedding dress and it’s a party not to miss!

Fun times ensue when bare bottoms and trips to the ER abound!  I can’t wait to read more from amazingly awesome author!

REVIEW!! Claiming of a Sex Demon (The Sex Demon Trilogy) by Jaye Shields (@JayeShields, @TastyBookTours)

Excerpt from Amazon:

It’s not easy for a sex demon to find a wife, and it’s even harder when the perfect woman is already taken.Emmerie Winter has only been married a few months, but depression has made her a fragile stranger in the arms of her husband. She knows she should love him, but she doesn’t, and no matter how hard she tries, she can’t convince her heart otherwise. When a sex demon with a boyish grin and a sinful body arrives in town, Emmerie’s world is turned upside down. His intense passion for life sends her depression into hiding, but her feelings for the sinful male could get her in deep trouble.A sex demon needs climax to survive, but that’s never been a problem for Reza Aniron as women seem to be unable to resist his charms…all except for one, a timid, blonde angel who treats him with complete indifference. But in her eyes he can see a fire that’s just waiting to be released. And he always did love a challenge.

I don’t understand Emmerie and I will tell you that right off the bat.  The woman has a good, strong loving husband but is constantly in a state of depression.  I don’t get that.  Now that being said, I really did enjoy this book.  I read Claiming first instead of Confessions based on a friend’s advice.  I am glad I took it because I like reading prequel’s first. 🙂    Reza made the book for me.  There is just something sexy about a man that can bring a woman infinite delights in the bedroom and still knows his way around the kitchen.  I did like the fact that Emmerie felt she needed to be honest with Lennox (her husband) about her feelings before making love with Reza.  That tells me she does have character and I wonder if Ms. Shields is going to further develop that.  I also thought her brother seemed to be a strong man and would like to see more of him as well.

I have only recently expanded my paranormal reading to include things other then vampires, werewolves and witches.  I have to say the Sex Demons were the place to go.  I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait to read Confessions and Addictions (Feb 2013) to round out this awesome trilogy!

**I was given a copy of this book in return for my honest review.  I am not being compensated for my opinion.**
