Jodie Cornett’s heart holds many secrets. She’s never known life without the tragic burden that comes with love. Her world may be surrounded by shadows, but the light of her life is quite certainly the darkest of them all.

“You protect the ones you love.” Her mantra carries her through her never-ending struggles—a haggard attempt to cope with, what is destined to be, her life.

When Flynn Taylor, a banker and Jodie’s personal superhero, rescues her, Jodie feels the future isn’t as bleak as she thought…but their son will change everything. Just when you think fate has relented from delivering more misery—think again–for destiny and fate will remind you that you are not in control.

Those who endure and suffer loss will clutch onto anything and all they see as good, even when it’s not the wisest decision…

This is Jodie’s story—from childhood to adulthood—and definitely not for the faint of heart.

Entice Me
Luscious Love Stories
The Authors from Romance Books 4 Us
Cindy Spencer Pape, Marianne Stephens, Jean Hart Stewart, Janice Seagraves,
Gemma Juliana, Denyse Bridger, Rose Anderson, Paris Brandon, Cara Marsi
Genre: Romance Bundle

This sweet through hot collection of love stories includes contemporary, period, and historical romance, otherworldly romance, and romance with a touch of magic by       Award-winning and Bestselling Authors: Cindy Spencer Pape, Marianne Stephens,  Jean Hart Stewart, Janice Seagraves, Gemma Juliana, Denyse Bridger,  Rose Anderson, Paris Brandon, and Cara Marsi.

Fun Facts With Janice Seagraves!

1.    My favorite place is either the mountains or the beach. I love both. But if I have to choose one it would be the beach. It’s been quite a while since I’ve walked on the sand and along the surf.
2.    Favorite music? I don’t listen very often much since I prefer it quiet when I write, but when I do its rock from the seventies, classical music like Bach and Mozart, or Celtic music like the Chieftains.
3.    My favorite flavor is chocolate. I like it as ice cream, a candy bar or a pie. Or anyway I can get it.

4.    Favorite drink? I love tea. I drink it hot or cold. Tia tea has become a recent favorite of mine.
5.    Hmm, do I have a favorite meal? I love Chinese’s food with fried rice or noodles, sushi (make mine a rainbow roll), Italian Calzone, and Mexican food; tacos, burritos and tamales. Gees, this is making me hungry.

6.    My story was inspired by a real cat named Baron. While I was at the computer typing madly away on a story, Baron would decide it was time to take a nap on my chest and stick his paw down my shirt.

7.    Baron loved me so much he’d stick his muzzle in my ear and purr real loud. I think he said, “If I was only human, grrr.”

8.    I added the paw thing and purring in the ear to my werecat story.

9.    The werecat in my story isn’t named Baron. His name came from a TV series I enjoyed watching in the 90’s called the Pretender. The Pretender was named Jared, and so is my werecat character.

10. Jared’s last name came from my Character Naming Source Book, where I found a cat inspired name. Hence the last name Catterick.

11. My story was also inspired by three flashes of inspiration straight from my muse.

12. The first one was of a woman being surprised by a werecat’s transformation.

13. The second was of the woman seeing him in human form at a ski lodge and not knowing what he was until later.

14. The third was when he ran into a tomcat and what happened.
15. I wrote all three parts years ago and sent them through two groups to critique.

16. All my critiquers loved the story, but it was still only three parts of a story. It wasn’t until another group, Romance Books ‘4’ Us, decided to do an anthology that I finished my werecat story.

17. Finishing the story went smoother than I thought it would, and it was fun learning more about my characters.

18. At the last, I added a bad cat for the bad guy and rounded out the story. The bad guy is also named after a real cat. An aggressive gray tabby named Tiger.

Heart of Stone by Madeline Archer
A Cup of Tea with Finola and Martin

Hello, my name is Rose Anderson and I am a romance novelist. As Rose, I write award-winning erotic romance. I also write children’s and youth books, murder mysteries and high-concept fiction, as well as historical non-fiction. And that’s where Madeline Archer steps in. As Madeline Archer, I write the other flavors of adult fiction, including the sweet romance featured here. Heart of Stone by Madeline Archer is my novelette in Entice Me: a 10-author romance anthology by the authors from Romance Books ‘4’ Us.

Experience tells me the literary characters created in my imagination evolve into people of substance. I walk into their world and they share with me all the details of their lives, details I never realized while writing them. I’m always surprised to discover these insights for they too have life’s baggage and skeletons in their closets. Things like this make us the people we are. Funny thing, I feelthese emotions when they reveal them, as if those insights are actually a view inside my own soul. Hmm… I suppose they are. I wrote them!

I had such an encounter recently when I found myself 111 years in the past …

A Cup of Tea with Finola and Martin.

I was standing beside an ancient tree on the Harvard campus, absorbed in the magic of being transported 111 years back in time, when a lovely old woman came up to me. She had snow-white hair and expressive eyes, her appearance indefinably reminiscent of an Irish actor I’d seen. I recognized her instantly as Finola Maguire. I said hello.

She was all smiles and spoke with a faint Irish lilt when she said, “Ah, Rose, I’ve been waitin’ for ye to come to call. Come inside an’ I’ll put the kettle on for tea.”

She placed her hands on the ancient tree and I heard her indistinct whisper. Suddenly, a small glittering cottage appeared right before my eyes. I followed her inside and she asked me to sit. The house was cozy, no more than two or three rooms, as far as I could tell. She took off her coat and hung it on a hook by the door, then went to tend her teakettle. To my surprise, a brass button shot out of an old boot near the hearth to clatter across the floor.

Seeing it, Mrs. Maguire peered into the boot, and said, “Martin, stop sortin’ yer treasures.  Look who’s come for a visit. It’s Rose herself!”

A second later, a packrat emerged. I greeted him and he chittered happily. I caught Mrs. Maguire’s eye hoping she’d translate. After all, she was a witch and he was her familiar spirit.

She said, “Martin says he’s so glad you’ve come and wonders if ye’d care to look at his collection. He’s very proud of it, ye know. Go on an’ take a look, dear. it’s sure to make ye smile. I’ll only be a minute with our tea.”

I said I’d be delighted and turned my attention to the packrat. The little sprite dipped in and out of his boot with a great many buttons, keys, and other things that he’d found lost on the ground. I told him, how impressed I was and could tell it pleased him by the happy ridges that appeared just above his eyes. He was about to show me the collection in the other full boot in the corner across the room, when we were called to tea.

Mrs. Maguire filled my cup first and then saw to her own. For Martin, she poured a splash of milk in a saucer, then buttered a corner of a biscuit for him. His tail pointed to the jam jar and she spread blackberry jam over his butter then handed it over. He took the piece in his deft little paws and launched right into it.

Apparently his not waiting for us was a lapse in manners in her opinion, for she tsked. Motioning to the plate of scrumptious-looking biscuits, she told me, “Oh do help yerself, dear. We don’t stand on ceremony, do we Martin?”

He looked at me and shook his head. His whiskers were purple with jam and crumbs stuck to his nose. I found him adorable.

I helped myself to the biscuits. They were delicious and tasted exactly like biscuits my grandmother used to make. But of course they would. We writers often use what we know when we write our scenes. I judiciously asked about her grandson. I pretty much knew the outcome of this story, but they didn’t just yet.

“Oh Rose,” she said, “for more than two hundred years I’ve searched high an’ low for others to help me with me daughter Abigayle’s charm. There are no other witch folk.”

She went on to say she recently spent two weeks traveling to Salem for the rents, then on to Boston for the banking, and then back home again. While she was in Boston, she placed inscrutable ads in the local newspapers, things only other witch folk would understand. Not a soul had yet replied. She dabbed her glistening eyes with her napkin, and said, “I’ve come to suspect the others of my kind were either all murdered during the witch hunts, or they abandoned the Auld ways to save themselves.”

Martin chittered and I suspected he wanted her to explain the Auld ways to me. This proved to be the case when she asked him the best way to distill this vast concept to a non-witch like myself. Whiskers dripping with milk, he chittered on and on. She listened and occasionally nodded. Finally, to me she said, “Ye know Martin is an ancient creature, Rose, far older than we. What he knows comes from long ago when people lived closer to nature. Back then, there were some with an affinity for the energies of all life. These were my people, Rose. The energies are auld, as old as time itself—a life force if ye will, an’ it exists in every livin’ thing. Folks with this affinity understand that life comes in two halves of the whole.”

Martin, now grooming himself after his meal, stopped and chittered once more.

“Oh that’s a good explanation, Martin.” To me, she said, “Ye don’t see a stag without seein’ a doe, nor a hen without a rooster. An’ ye don’t see a woman without seein’ a man. It’s the same for everythin’, Rose. Even the flowers an’ trees have both sides within them. My kind understands the glorious Mind who made it all, an’ we know the Mind walks among creation as both the god an’ goddess. An’ because we understand this, we are allowed to call upon the energies of nature for magic.”

I couldn’t help but ask why the witches of Salem couldn’t call upon these energies to help put an end to the persecutions.

“Oh bless ye, dear. If only we could have done so. There were so few of us to stand against the fear and intolerance, ye see. Long ago, when everyone followed the Auld ways, it would have been a small matter to turn an ill wish into good. It takes the belief of many to turn dark thoughts to light ones. But somethin’ happened nearly two thousand years ago, when a few people learned they could wield power by incitin’ fear in others. The fearful ones turned away from the Auld ways an’ in time they simply forgot.”

I couldn’t help but compare the intolerance of the past to events current in my own time. It was an ugly thing no matter when. I told them as much.

Martin chimed in. She nodded and relayed his words, “He says ye always must believe the world can be better, for that’s exactly how it becomes so. Ye must believe, dear. Believe and hope.”

I understood what they meant. Positive thinking often made the seemingly impossible possible. My thoughts turning to the nearly impossible situation her grandson was in, I asked about Neila.

“Oh, she’s a dear, sweet-natured lass. An’ so terribly shy. The poor dear gets all tongue-tied when it comes to talkin’ with people so she keeps to herself. I have her makin’ her sketches across the way in that empty building. She’s practicin’ her conversation while she works.”

How sly of her. I told her so.

Her cheeks pinkened. She smiled back at me and said, “Hope is a good thing, dear.”

Martin chittered. There was no need to translate. I understood.

Heart of Stone

The story opens with the notorious witch hunts in 17th Century Salem, Massachusetts.

As formal education for women lacks substance in her own country, Neila Flannigan leaves Ireland in 1904 to attend Radcliffe women’s college America. Shy and introverted, Neila passes her lonesome hours sketching the Harvard grounds and sending drawings home to her father. A chance encounter with a kindly old Irish woman inspires her to sketch a statue in an old, unused building. Desperately lonely, Neila ends up sharing her thoughts and feelings with a man carved in stone. Some days it feels like he listens.

What possible twist of fate can help these despairing lovers?

Writing claims my heart, and one of the best decisions I ever made was when I decided to write full time. I’m pretty ordinary really. But I had the chance to travel a lot when my husband did, and fell in love with England. Since I grew up on tales of King Arthur, when my kids were older and I retired from real estate, I turned to a much-desired career of author. I’m now on my 34th book, and loving every minute I can spend at the computer. But let’s not get on the subject of computers! I just switched from a PC to a Mac and the Mac is much smarter than me!
All my heroes are strikingly handsome, of course, with a flaw or two the heroine gets to correct. Writing has always been my joy and I’m so lucky that readers actually buy my stories!

Goodreads TE_Teaser6_Sm     Exclusive Excerpt: Damien lightly laid me on the bed, removed my towel, and tucked me beneath the sheets. “Do you need anything? Water, saltines, anything?” Concern filled his features once again. “No.” I smiled. “I’m fine. Just tired.” He nodded his acknowledgment, and then he walked to the bathroom door while pulling his soaking wet shirt from his back. He tossed it on the chair, every muscle flexing with his movements. I might have been tired, but that didn’t stop me from being stunned into silence as my body flamed to life at the sight of his bare torso. My greedy eyes traveled from one end of his shoulder to the other, drinking in the beauty of his ink. Without glancing at me, he sauntered over to his dresser to pull out a dark-colored shirt. “Don’t,” I whispered, feeling my heart stop beating in my chest. It destroyed me a little every time he concealed this part of himself from me. I knew something awful had happened to Damien and that he didn’t want to talk about it, but him hiding it from me hurt beyond any other physical pain I’d ever experienced. His arms paused midair, and he gazed over his shoulder. From his side profile, I saw the instant his body tensed, and his jaw clenched. “Please…” I swallowed thickly and dug for courage. “You want me to stay. And I want to lie with you…with nothing between us.” I realized I was being unfair, but I was that desperate. A visible tremor shook through him. It felt as though an eternity had passed before he spoke, “Don’t touch them.” My heart swelled within its confined space. He was going to trust me. “I won’t,” I breathed in relief. “I promise.” “Don’t ever break a promise to me, Raelyn.” He slowly lowered his arms and pivoted to face me. “So, don’t make one if you can’t keep it.” “I keep my promises,” I vowed with the utmost sincerity. “As do I. Always.” His voice was reverent.     Alicia Rae Bio: 5889106Alicia Rae is a Contemporary Romance Author who lives in Dekalb, Illinois, with her husband and three beautiful boys. NEW RELEASE! THE SINGLE GAME BY AMANDA BLACK

We all remember high school. It’s angsty and hormonal. That mixed with the pressure of typical teenage party games—Spin the Bottle, Truth or Dare, 7 Minutes in Heaven—equals super awkward social situations.
Erotic romance author Amanda Black is bringing us back to that wonderful time with her newest, stand-alone installment in The Apartment Novels saga: THE SINGLE GAME, an erotic, new adult story formerly of Twilight fanfiction fame.

Amanda Black - The Single Game

Eden is a confident high school senior at a new school, and she wants a boyfriend. Jilted by her cheating ex, she’s looking for an “eager virgin, ready for training.” Her two best friends are all too willing to help. They bring her to a senior class rager, convinced that all Eden needs to find her match is—you guessed it—the Single Game.

Logan doesn’t usually participate in the Single Game, but he’s been crushing on Eden since she moved into town. This time, he’s in. Thanks to meddling friends, Eden and Logan are matched up and draw the most well-known dare: spend ten minutes together in a dark closet.

And…well, you can guess what happens from there 😉
So grab a copy of The Single Game today and take a walk down memory lane!
P.S. Want to win a print copy of the story that started it all? If you order The Single Game, you can enter to win The Apartment:The Complete Affair bind-up! So do yourself a favor and enter below!

RELEASE DAY REVIEW! CHERISHED BY MICHELLE HUGHES

Luca Phillips dropped me to my knees with a promise…

He was sexy and confident, absolutely brilliant and Luca wanted me.  I was infatuated from the first conversation, wanting to be what he needed.  For the first time in my life I understood what it meant to desire.  All he demanded was my trust.  I had been broken by my past and doubted I could give that gift, no matter how badly I craved him.

Luca’s world was dark when looking in from the outside, but the light in his eyes promised something more.  Hope.  Together we could change the downward spiral my life was taking.  His words.

Kneeling at his feet, handing over control, he asked one question.  How far are you willing to go to be…

This story touched me in a deep way. Everyone wants to find a relationship that is important to them. BDSM is a lifestyle that is misunderstood and judged harshly.  Michelle has done a wonderful job of weaving a story around truth.  Luca is a forever type of man. He understands Gina’s (I know what you did there, babe) demons better than she does. Overcoming trauma is never easy and it takes a lot of strength to give another person something as precious as your trust. Luca earned it.  Thank you,  Michelle. You have shown us that we can overcome domestic violence and find our own forever types of guys.

RELEASE DAY REVIEW! MANWHORE BY KATY EVANS #manwhore

 Manwhore
Book 1, The Manwhore Series

Is it possible to expose Chicago’s hottest player–without getting played?

This is the story I’ve been waiting for all my life, and its name is Malcolm Kyle Preston Logan Saint. Don’t be fooled by that last name though. There’s nothing holy about the man except the hell his parties raise. The hottest entrepreneur Chicago has ever known, he’s a man’s man with too much money to spend and too many women vying for his attention.

Mysterious. Privileged. Legendary. His entire life he’s been surrounded by the press as they dig for tidbits to see if his fairytale life is for real or all mirrors and social media lies. Since he hit the scene, his secrets have been his and his alone to keep. And that’s where I come in.

Assigned to investigate Saint and reveal his elusive personality, I’m determined to make him the story that will change my career.

But I never imagined he would change my life. Bit by bit, I start to wonder if I’m the one discovering him…or if he’s uncovering me.

What happens when the man they call Saint, makes you want to sin?

I was asked if I was interested in reviewing this and at first I was a little hesitant.  I know that Katy Evans is an amazing writer but I have gotten to the point that I was a little jaded about the whole billionaire romance novel.  They can get a little repetitive.   I read the blurb and was…intrigued.

Saint.  This man has made me decide that being a sinner is the way to go.  There is something about a man that knows what he wants and doesn’t hesitate to go after it.  That is sexy as hell.  Rachel is a very naive young woman in my opinion.  She works for a failing magazine and has a shot to cement her credibility with her boss and get the story that all of Chicago wants to know.  Who is Malcom Saint?

Rachel and Saint have a relationship that is hot, spicy and full of passion.  It begins with a trickle of sparks and turns into a full blown fourth of July celebration!

Katy is an wonderful storyteller and her characters come to life.  It has been awhile since I read a book that left me with a hangover and begging for more. This is one that will leave you breathless.

RELEASE DAY AND REVIEW! TEARS OF CRIMSON BY MICHELLE HUGHES

The New Orleans Vampire Bar, Tears of Crimson,  comes back to life!  February 17, 2015

I was only fifteen the first time he found me.  I say he found me because I hadn’t been looking for him… yet there he was when I closed my eyes. When my mother was declared insane, the only person I had left in the world was Granny Louise.  Even though she was good to me, I was a target for bullies, ones that were convinced that the apple never fell far from the tree.  I was tired of my life, tired of a world that fostered such heartache and pain.

Rafe changed things.

He salvaged what was left of my will to live.  Those six years became my lifeline.  He opened my eyes to passion, shared a world with me that was so vivid that I could still hear his words in my ears, and the ghost of his touch on my skin when I woke up.

Now that my world has seemingly fallen apart, the only place I can think of going is where my dreams took place- New Orleans.  Rafe and I have walked those streets in my fantasies.  Somehow, I feel like that’s where I can find my salvation, my purpose.

What frightens me is, now that I’ve stepped in Tears of Crimson, a part of me is starting to believe that some dreams are meant to be lived.

I am one of the lucky ones who discovered Michelle in the early stages of her writing career.  I stumbled upon this book called Tears of Crimson.  I read it and was hooked.  How do you describe meeting your book soul mate?  This woman wrote the things that I wanted to read and wrote it in a way that drew me in and kept me hooked.  I never looked back.
Rafe is that man that you can picture clearly in our heads.  We all have one–that one man that could convince us that being single might not be a bad idea.  He is sexy, dominant and mysterious.  He comes in an immortal package that would make most of contemplate forever.
Cara has been drawn to the man in her dreams but who knew she would literally find him?  New Orleans is a mystical place and the people are too.  This story is sensual and passionate.  I read the original and the revamp and I can’t wait for you to discover the secret of Tears of Crimson. Michelle has managed to capture all the original steam and roll it into a sexy package that is on my permanent read again list.
P.S.  Say hello to the wait staff.  Those girls have a little something special…

SWEET SURPRISE BY CANDIS TERRY

SweetSurprise

Synopsis:

Playing naughty or nice . . .
Fiona Wilder knows all about falling in lust. Love? That’s another story. Determined not to repeat past mistakes, the single mom and cupcake shop owner is focused on walking the straight and narrow. But trouble has a way of finding her. And this time it comes in the form of a smoking hot firefighter who knows all the delicious ways to ignite her bad-girl fuse.
Can lead to heartbreak . . .
Firefighter Mike Halsey learned long ago that playing with fire just gets you burned. He’s put his demons behind him, and if there’s one line he won’t cross, it’s getting involved with his best friend’s ex. But when fate throws him in the path of the beautiful, strong, and off-limits Fiona, will he be able to fight their attraction? Or will he willingly go down in flames?
Or a sweet surprise!

Excerpt:

“Fiona swallowed. Something warm and forbidden swirled in the pit of her stomach, then wound its way into her heart and other vital parts of her body. In the old days she’d tug him closer and take what she wanted. But this was a new day. A new Fiona. A more responsible Fiona who, unfortunately, couldn’t seem to get this man off her mind. “Then maybe this won’t work out.” She eased her hand from his and instantly missed the fire in his touch. “Maybe.” Those broad shoulders beneath that fresh cotton T-shirt lifted in a nonchalant shrug. “I’m willing to give it a shot if you are.” Give what a shot, she wanted to ask. The actual work? Or the sexual tension that ignited between them like gasoline and matches? A sigh expanded her chest. “If you’re going to work for me there can’t be any flirting. Or touching.” His smile widened to a grin. “It’ll be a pleasure working under you.” Oh boy.”– Candis Terry, Sweet Surprise

What are your must haves when you are writing?  Examples:  fuzzy slippers, rabbits foot or a magic 8 ball?

I must have coffee and some kind of murder type of TV show on in the background with the volume off. It’s usually Criminal Minds, CSI Miami, or First 48 Hours. I don’t know why, but it works for me.

Do you listen to music when you write?  If so, what genre?

I don’t actually listen to music while I write. It would interfere with those murder shows. But I do hear songs in my head when I write and they usually go into the story because they usually are great for setting the scene. For instance, the opening scene of Something Sweeter is set in Seven Devils Saloon and the song playing is Miranda Lambert’s “Kerosene.” It’s perfect because when Jesse Wilder meets his match in Allison Lane it’s very combustible. I love all genres and on my Playlists I literally have everyone from Motley Crue to Tom Jones.

Your covers are amazing.  Do you bring the ideas to your publisher or do they just show you what they are going to be?

Thank you! I love my covers and I’m so grateful to the amazing art department at Avon Books for the beautiful work they do. In the beginning of the Sweet, Texas series (for the book Anything But Sweet) I was just asked to give them a general idea about the book. They came up with the lovely photo that is now the cover. And that pretty much set the look and the pace for the rest. It’s important for us to convey that happy feeling on the covers and to really relate to the story inside. Obviously getting the hero and heroine to look as much like the story couple is important too. Now, for each book, I send them a description of the characters and then I send along photos of poses I like and also I send photos of actors, actresses, or models that might have inspired my characters. With the cover of Something Sweeter I’d seen a wedding photo on Pinterest by this amazing award-winning South African photographer. I sent it to the art department and said, “This photo exactly conveys the spirit of the story in the book.” To my amazement the art director contacted the photographer and obtained the rights to use the actual wedding photo. How cool is that?

What type of stories do you like to read?

I love contemporary romance, but usually when I’m working on a book I stay away from that genre and read more paranormal or new adult books. I also love to read biographies of the golden era movie stars like Judy Garland and Clark Gable.

Would you be interested in adapting any of your stories to the big/little screen?  If so, which one?

I would love that! And without question I’d love for Home Sweet Home, my story in the For Love and Honor anthology to be made into a movie. It’s the introduction to the Sweet, Texas series and honestly, it’s one of the most emotional stories I’ve ever written. It will probably always be near and dear to my heart, and I think it would transfer well to the big (or little) screen.

Can you tell my readers how you got your first story published?

It took me 22 years to finally connect with the right editor and the right publisher. For years I had my heart set on writing for Harlequin. After a lot of interest (several times) and editorial revisions (several times—without a contract), I had to face the fact that I didn’t write what they were looking for and I may never write what they were looking for. I finally decided I’d write one more book but that I’d do it my way. But really, I was ready to quit trying. Only about four chapters into this new story I attended a local writer’s conference with a published author friend. There I sat at the table with an Avon editor (my dream publisher) who asked about me and my writing. I wasn’t going to pitch my book but she asked me to, so I agreed. I didn’t prepare, I literally just told her about the story from my heart. She asked for whatever I had. I sent it. Then she requested the rest when I was done. I finished it in four months and sent it. Then I didn’t hear back from her for nine months. The offer came in to sign on with Avon Impulse, a brand new ebook first, POD line. It wasn’t my dream but my agent said it was a good idea, so I signed a three-book contract. After my first three books (the Sugar Shack series—all published within six months of each other), I sent in a new proposal (the Sweet, Texas series) and was moved up to Avon Books mass market publication. It was a long road but man, am I ever glad I stuck with it.

Will you share something from your newest book?

How about a little teaser from Sweet Surprise? This was a fun scene between the heroine, Fiona, and her BFF Sabrina after Fiona is in a car accident.

Sabrina was a full-blown Mexican fireball. And Fiona considered herself lucky to have such a friend. Especially one who’d stuck with her through the thick of her insanity.

“The hospital should put you in charge of the morale-boosting committee,” Fiona said.

“Well, when you get in these moods, it’s no joke. Surely, you can see how well you’ve done.” She arched a brow at Fiona’s silence. “Again with the no? Then let me spell it out for you.”

And she did—popping up a hot pink fingernail with each point she made.

“You’re an amazing mom. You’re independent. Self-sufficient. You’ve saved enough to start your own business. You’re a rock star BFF. And you’ve opened your heart to the woman your ex-husband is about to marry. What more can you ask of yourself to make up for those bad-judgment years?”

“I don’t know.” A twinge of undigested guilt reared its ugly head. “I’m still trying to figure that out.”

“Well, stop figuring and live. Enjoy yourself.” Sabrina’s wide mouth broke into a grin. “Grab hold of a man like that hunk who just left here and have a little fun.”

And there lay the problem.

Fiona had had enough fun to last her—plus ten other people—a lifetime.

Somehow, by the grace of God, she’d managed to survive. Now it was time to get serious. And serious did not include hooking up with another fireman.

No matter how sizzling he might be.

Any advise to aspiring authors?

Never give up. Never! If being published is your dream, make it happen. Stay true to your own voice and keep your eyes open for opportunities.

Thank you!

It is no secret that I absolutely adore Candis Terry.  She is a talented writer and a wonderful person.  I love these books and when I am in the mood for a sweet romance this is one of the writers I head to.

Fiona has always depended on others but now it is time to stand on her own two feet.  What better way to do that then to start a company?  If you are going to do it, then cupcakes (yum, nom, nom) are the way to do it.

I love the Wilder family.  They truly show you what it means to be a family and I think it is amazing that they keep Fiona in the family.  I really like that Mike and Fiona have this amazing chemistry and they know how to have fun with each other.  In a lot of books we see the “insta-love” and it is always nice to see a slow, sensual building of lust that explodes into a love of a lifetime.

Please take a chance and discover this amazing group of characters and the sweetness that is Candis Terry.

Review by Brandy

My apologies to the author on the lateness of this review.

This was a really enjoyable read.  FYI, it is a cliffhanger but I don’t mind those.  Jade is one of those people that seems to have to struggle in life.  When she is offered a full ride to a great college she accepts.  I am the type that would have seriously questioned this but I don’t believe anything is given away for free.  Anyway, she meets Garrett and he is not who she expects him to be.  He slowly gains her trusts only to lose it when life and others get in the way.  Garrett’s family doesn’t want him to have anything to do with Jade and I like when a character steps away from the mold and stands up for themselves.

This is a really nice start to a series and I am interested in seeing where Ms. Everhart takes it.

excerpt

After dinner, we go back to his room. It’s the first time I’ve been to the second floor. The hallway stinks like beer and sweat. Luckily Garret’s room doesn’t have that odor and it’s much cleaner than I imagined it would be. He has a ton of electronics, including the big TV he mentioned along with a surround sound system. And there are at least 100 movies sitting in a big cardboard box on the floor.

“Pick whatever you want,” he says as I flip through the movies.

“You have quite a setup here. It’s like your own movie theater. I don’t even have a TV.”

“You don’t? You need a TV, Jade.”

“No, I don’t. If I want to watch something I’ll just use the one down the hall.”

“That one barely works. If you want to watch TV, come up here.”

“I’m not going to do that. I hardly ever watch TV anyway. Here. Let’s watch this one.” I hold up a cartoon, trying to keep a straight face. “It says it’s about some dogs that solve crimes.”

“How did that get in there? That’s my little sister’s movie.”

“It’s okay, Garret. I don’t care if you like cartoons.”

“That is not my movie. She must’ve stuck it in the box when I wasn’t looking.”

I laugh. “Yeah, sure she did.”

“Give it here.” He reaches for it, but I won’t let him have it. I quickly stand up, holding it behind my back with one hand while putting my other hand out in front of me trying to keep him away.

He quickly backs me up against the wall, forcing my outstretched hand against his hard chest. I lower it to my side as he leans his hand on the wall near my head. Then he slowly reaches behind me with his other hand to get the movie. Our bodies are now touching and our faces are just inches apart. My heart is beating erratically and I struggle to keep my breathing steady as I feel his body against mine.

“Jade.” He gazes down at me with this incredibly sexy smile. “Give me the movie, please.” I try not to stare at his lips but they’re so close and so inviting.

The movie is still in my hand wedged between my lower back and the wall. I push my hips forward slightly to release it, which positions me even closer to him. As he goes to take the movie, I accidentally drop it and he catches it, right behind my butt. I feel his hand there and I freeze as my face heats up. He slowly takes his hand out from behind me and rests it on the wall by my head. I realize I’ve been holding my breath and I force myself to breathe again.

I look up and our eyes meet. “For the last time, the movie is my sister’s. But if you really want to watch the crime-fighting dog cartoon, we’ll watch it. Or,” he pauses and that sexy smile reappears, “if you want to do something else, we’ll do something else.”

I know from his tone what ‘something else’ is and I really, really want to do ‘something else’ but I promised myself I wouldn’t get involved with a guy at college. Unfortunately, I’ve never been very good with promises.

Series Info

Description of The Jade Series

The Jade Series is a New Adult Romance that follows the relationship of Jade and Garret in their first year of college. In Choosing You, (Jade 1), Jade and Garret meet on Jade’s first night at Moorhurst College and despite their strong attraction to each other, they’re not allowed to date because of the strict rules that control Garret’s life. In Knowing You, (Jade 2), Garret breaks the family rules and begins dating Jade. Their relationship grows deeper but issues from Jade’s past complicate matters. Loving You (Jade 3) shows Jade and Garret growing closer as a couple but also hints at the trouble that lies ahead in Promising You (Jade 4), in which a new challenge emerges for Garret that could interfere with the future he wants with Jade. Originally, book 4 was the end of the series, but fans wanted more of Jade and Garret, so Allie recently published Forever You, an all-new, full-length follow-up book to The Jade Series.
