About the Author-
Tyffani Clark Kemp might be the quietest person in the room, but that just means she’s probably the biggest freak too. She is a multi-genre author with a gift for the written word and a desire to help all Indies reach their full potential. In 2012, she and her best friend Kimberly Fudge started SideStreet Cookie Publishing for authors who want to remain independent, but don’t have the time or the knowledge to do it all themselves. From the age of eleven she dedicated her life to writing and making sure she was good at her craft. Now, she passes that knowledge on to others. About the Author-
A. Gorman was born and raised in a small community in Central Indiana. She left the slow moving life of the country for the fast-paced city life. After spending twelve years in the city and becoming a mother to two wild and crazy kids, she chose to move back to the peace and quiet of the country after marrying the man of her dreams and gaining three more children.
As an avid reader, A. never set out to be an author since she’s a full-time editor for several incredible authors. However, after editing one day, a voice started talking to her and talking and talking. She decided to sit down and write what she had to say, and it turned out she had a lot to say. Then that one voice turned to two, and another story came to life. Not believing that anything she was writing was publishable, she asked a few friends to critique her manuscript…and now she’s the proud author of the Their Sins series, with several more series and standalones planned.
When she’s not corralling their five kids and two dogs or out in their garden, you can find her at her desk editing or writing her next novel with a cup of coffee and classical music cranked up on her iPad. While she loves reading, A. is addicted to all things British, coffee, and gummy bears—in no particular order.

Excerpt-

I pull Carter’s baseball cap back onto my head and grab his discarded black hoodie out of the backseat; slipping it on over my tee shirt. I’m struck with a pang of longing that takes my breath away when I inhale and find the scent of his cologne still present on the sweatshirt. I have no idea what I’ll do without him; he has been my best friend since elementary school. I see him every day and talk to him every night before I go to sleep. How in the world can I leave him behind? I feel my pulse starting to race and I take a deep breath, telling myself, You will leave him behind so he can stay safe. I burrow deeper into Carter’s sweatshirt, breathe in his scent and watch as the sleeves fall down over my hands. If I close my eyes I can almost feel his arms around me. This way, I can at least have the illusion of him here with me. It’s not the same and I know it, but I’ll just have to make do.

Looking around the inside of my car – a light blue 2010 PT Cruiser, another extravagant gift from Kate – I grant myself a moment to comprehend the magnitude of the loss of my old life. There are a thousand memories of Carter’s and my friendship in this car; road trips, drive-in movies and a plethora of shared experiences. I choke back the sob that longs to break free of my throat and make myself breathe. I know I have to get out of the car and make my way to the train station, but I’ve never wanted to do anything less. I feel shielded in here, like even if Liam is right behind me, he can’t get to me. I know that’s foolish, but this car has been my sanctuary for the past twelve hours and I’m not ready to let go of my security blanket just yet.

She loves coffee and the color purple. Melissa Simmons loves music, reading, her cat and her husband-not necessarily in that order, of course. She is obsessed with all things Disney, Supernatural (tv show) and comic book tv shows/ movies and doesn’t care who knows it. Her favorite superhero is Batman and she will defend his awesomeness to her last breath.  Wow. I am stunned by this incredible book. The Escape is a new story from these ladies and it wrangled me in and kept me hooked.

Claire and Carter have been best friends for a lot of years. They have share almost everything. Claire hasn’t told him that she has been seeing someone–an older someone. When he bails on a date, Claire uses the skills that Adam, Carter’s older cop brother, taught them when they were younger.

Sometimes what we see takes us off of one path and dropkicks us down another one.

Claire has no choice but to run. I love the way this story is played out. Carter and Claire have a relationship that will withstand the obstacles that are being thrown at them. I’m excited to see where the ladies go with this series.
